What do fellow Canucks get on a tank
Hi guys.
I'm averaging 380 kms for 55 litres on my '05 manual with 9000 kilometers. I think that works out to 16mpg. Yeah, thats bad but rotaries have never been misers.
Just wondering if I'm worse or better than my fellow hosers...mileage wise.

I average about 300km on a tank but often less than that, mostly city driving this works out to 16km per liter. The car has 10k on it. I am pissed that they couldn't make the tank 70 or 80 liters. Economy is not much better on the highway as I always cruise at 139km per hour so the rpm are fairly high (4.5 or so if i remember correcty) . This car would need to have a seven gear SMG for good highway fuel economy.I can't imagine how pissed a person driving 180/200km/h on a autobahn would feel.
Your math is a little wacky.
380 km = 231 miles
55L = 12 Canuk gallons
231/12 = about 19 mpg.
I get the same number of Km, from 50 litres, I fill up when the light comes on = 21mpg.

My calculation is 100*55 litres/380km = l/100km = 14.47l/100km = 19.5 MPG (imperial)

I can do about 380km/50L but driving like a granny, ie. I'm in 6th above 60km. Otherwise I think 380km/55L is about right driving more like how the 8 should be driven. I do about 75/25 (city/hwy).
Personally I think getting 380km is good already, relatively speaking for this car anyways :p

I got 480km once all highway. Was on the 400 up thru Barry to Sudbury
Sadly, I have to track it because of business. Also, mileage tracking was the first thing that told me something was wrong with the MAF sensor on an older VW I once had.
I avg 300KM like clock work (mostly stop & go, usually shift around 4000 RPM). All time record is 360 km with a few highway stints. I have 14000km on the car. Love the car, but the mileage/power ratio is disappointing no matter how you slice it.
