probabaly not if you have an 04, its easy to fix, will check to see if part numbers can be cross referenced.

This revised TSB has been out since early February, and already discussed in a number of 'water in the tailight" threads, but I guess we needed yet another one.

FYI I've installed this gasket on my tail light and it has solved my problem. Very easy to install, hard part is getting the tail light dry

So if I am reading this correctly, on my 04 I would not be able to get this covered under warranty?

What can I do if I am having one tail-light condensate?

Edit - Nevermind. On first page of the TSB it states "Applicable models/VINS - 2004-2006... With VINS lower than... (produced before March 1 2006)" . Looks like I will take a shot at getting this taken care of

read again...

It clearly states "This repair will be covered under Mazda’s New Vehicle Limited Warranty term." (3 years)

Don't worry about it, just get the new gasket and stick it on. I think it was about $20.

Wait, I am confused... If that is the case, why would they issue a TSB that is already invalid

2006 was three years ago... 2004 was 5 years ago.

^ keep in mind that the warranty clock doesn't start until you buy the vehicle, Case in point, I bought my '05 in late March of '06, therefore I'm still within the 48 mo. B-toB warranty.

if you buy the gasket from finishline, it's now a 2-piece kit that includes the other smaller piece. it's also about $20 more

I don't know if I should get mine. How would you clean the Watermarks inside the Tailight?

White Vinegar is the cure for most all 'water spotting' ills.

The TSB itself has nothing to do with whether your particular car will be repaired under warranty. It's a service bulletin. Meaning it tells the service tech how to fix it. Who pays is a totally separate matter.

This TSB does not apply to me as the dealership already drilled holes in the bottom of my tail-light assembly to drain the water (and goldfish) out.

Sorry, my bad . Yes it's VIN and year specific, but I meant to say that it doesn't exclude earlier models from warranty coverage just based on year, since some may have extended warranties.

The TSB has nothing to do with the warranty.

Its a guidline on how to repaire something.

If the particular car is still under warranty, that repair is free.

If it is NOT still under warranty, they still use the TSB as an instruction of how to repair it, they just charge for it.

You can buy the part yourself and fix it yourself if you are OUT of warranty.
