warm up in 40 below

warm up in 40 below

hey there i live in Winnipeg, Manitoba Canada where it is 40 below my question is how long dose the motor take to warm up to drive plus i park outside not in a garage.

Warm it up until the idle goes down to 1500 RPM or below. Likely about 5 minutes or so

Then start off and drive it slow until the temp comes up.

Might need to block off some airflow to the oil coolers if it doesn't warm up very well when it is really cold...you know the old beer box in the grill thing \

PS: Grew up in Northern Sask....used to drain the oil out of the trucks and heat it up on the stove before pouring it back in

In that cold of weather, it may never get up to true operating temperature. I've been out in -25F/-30C before. I can't imagine it any colder.

so i guess it takes a while to get heat, plus i thought these motors run hotter then 4 stroke motors
