it'll be a last minute decision for me whether or not i will be attending this cruise.

Sad to see you leave Usoff, but I certainly hope it's for good cause (career I presume?)
I will definitely come out for this drive, and either 14 or 7 is fine for me....
Also, for those curious about the drive.. YES it's a pretty long drive, and will take up the whole day. But there are stops on the way that will make it easier... and you'll be so enamored with the drive you'll forget where the time goes.
I wonder if the S2S will be clear of Whistler drivers yet in May.
I will definitely come out for this drive, and either 14 or 7 is fine for me....

Sorry for taking a bit to post here, but it was due to moving, and due to having internet problems since I got moved in... so, here is what I think.
Alright, here is the thing, we are using this as 2 things, we want to start doing this drive at least once a year, an annual RX-8 meet which will only grow, as well, we are using this as a sendoff for Usoff, since we don't know wether he will be returning from Hong Kong or not.
This will take place on the 7th, since it is the best date for him. As well, it seems the best date for most 8 drivers.
One thing we all talked about last year, but we have not had enough regular meets and people to get it started, is, we (Rohit, Mark, Usoff, Lawrence, Vince, Dan and myself) want to see if we can get this into an actual club, and start towards organized events, and get them to incorporate other groups sometimes as well, like the NWN, BCRX7, basically, any other clubs which are great people to be around.
If you have any ideas on how we can get this going, or if with the meet, we will have enough interest in this to make it feasible. Please bring your thoughts with you, it can only help.
Me and Rohit had a few thoughts, and Vince has a good head on his shoulders for this type of thing as well, and his ideas are pretty much right on the money, but the biggest thing is, that if enough people are interested, then we can make something more of this than a yearly drive to get us all out for something.
After the May 7th meet and drive, and sendoff for Usoff, then we can start a thread with thoughts and ideas, or maybe even all go for a few drinks after the drive and throw around a few thoughts.

I'm good with May 7 @ 9am. I'm good with the drive. I'm good with regular RX8 Club meets. I think that'll be fun. we can do the drive on the 7th, and then chat and hang out on the regular club nights.

i concur that spouses/friend/partner are welcomed and encouraged!!
but please, and i believe i speak for the rest of the club, out of courtesy and respect dont say 'hon, can we go now, i forgot to record "Desperate Housewives", ' halfway through our drive in lillooet...etc.
