Just wondering, other than auto trader, are there any sites like Edmunds for Canada?

What like Edmunds are you looking for? For reviews, www.canadiandriver.com is an excellent resource. If you're looking for new car invoice pricing, one of the only sources I've found is a pay service, www.carcostcanada.com . I've used it several times, it's very helpful. For used car pricing, both Toyota Canada and Chrysler Canada's web sites have links to (I believe) Kelly Blue Book values for assessing used cars.

If you don't mind picking up a book, just about every library in the country has copies of the Lemon-Aid Guide, by Phil Edmonston (this is what sold me on buying my RX-7.) They have editions for new cars and used cars (one of each per year.)

They're so popular that they get stolen frequently - don't expect them to let you leave the library with it.

 

Lemon aid is a good book. I have in the past bought all my cars based on Edmonson's "recommended" buys.
Except for this year. He does not recommend the RX8 with it being the 1st production year.
Most people will say not to buy a car its first year to let the bugs work their way out.
It can be a gamble. Lining up to buy a Fiero when they first came out made you a loser while lining up for a Miata ended up qualifying you for Mensa!
Edmonson didnt recommend the Miata either its first production year, so I disregarded his RX8 not recommended, and am banking on Mazda hitting another home run with this car.
So far I believe I made the right choice. Mazda hit this one right out of the park.
