Shoddy Service @ Downtown Mazda
Hey Gang,
I thought I would share my experience with Downtown Mazda in Toronto this week to see what you all think. I bought the car new there back in Sept 2003 and made an arrangement with the General Manager that I would service my car there exclusively as long as they store my off-seasons for free (I have no room at my condo). Needless to say, I have been servicing and storing my off-season rims/tires there ever since.
I brought it in Tuesday for a winter service and to do the seasonal wheel swap. I come back later in the day to find that they've thrown my 4 Summer wheels and tires in the back of my car! I treat this car like I gave it birth so seeing the tires in my unused back seat had me seeing red. I go inside to be informed that they no longer store tires there and that if I want my tires stored they will arrange it for $200 a year... What? On top of this they charged me an additional $30 for the tire swap in addition to the $100 winter maintenance (which includes tire rotation). Last spring the same seasonal service with tire swap cost me a total of $90... What gives? I talk to the service manager who could really care less and I told him that he is pushing me out the door and that I have been a loyal customer for over 6 years. All I got was a shrug.
I guess loyalty is for suckers....

Do you have the documented and signed statement above? If yes, you maybe able to use it as legal evidence against them.
I do understand they may not be storing the tires anymore and have to move everything out as well.
It really depends on if they are ******** or not.
Again, if you have to pay regardless, you can always to Scarboro Mazda - The highest sales Mazdaspeed dealership in Canada and most Rx8s served in the GTA.

That's just bad customer service.
Sure, everyone's getting killed in the auto industry, but to take it out on a customer like that is just poor business. Take it to Scarborough, and don't lose any sleep over it. If they treat your business like that, then they probably don't deserve it.
