Brake pads every 40 minutes? Wow.

Sounds like I will need new brakes after this event! (stock brake w/ 34K on them + 4 AutoX)

We also do radiator about 2-3 times a season. Greg paid a long time ago (I think)

RevRX8 still planning on bringing your race car?
^ Interesting. I had never changed my transmission fluid and had already 17,000 km on it with 5-6 track days this year before she broke at Mosport. Maybe I should consider changing the fluid more regularly to prolong my transmission life.

That aint gonna happen this early in the race season lol. Probably wont even run the car for 20-30 minutes total. Just gonna play with some ignition changes and tire pressures to see what happens. A lot safer to do that at Shannonville than Mosport. If we do put the passenger seat in it will be after the last race of the year. Like I said in an earlier post the costs of running the car is high, we are dealing with parts that last hours not years. Example, carbon apex seals, lifespan....about 24 hours of racing before replacing.

Al, why aren't you using ceramics? I know it seems like they cost a lot but if you think about it in terms of not having to open up your motor, they're value is phenomenal. They don't wear and they don't break (the 3mm one piece variety). I have over 17,000 km on my new engine and you know how I abuse the crap out of it at the track almost every weekend (when something isn't broken lol). Sure, I blow tranny's but my engine lives through it and keeps chugging . Also, I've had audible detonation due to fuel pump problems twice and my engine is perfectly fine.

Also, after your done your testing and if you have free time, would you be interested in taking my car for a run? I'm interested in what you think of it.

For the price of the 3mm ceramic I can rebuild my engine 4 times lol and they wear rotor housings the carbons dont. My price on all the carbon seals and springs are about $240.00cdn, the ceramics are about $2600.00cdn..... Plus all the added expense and time of machining the rotors etc etc. Even the 2mm ceramics are huge coin, and we dont have boost so we really dont have the need. When the engine has been apart, the rotor housings look brand new, no scuffs or score marks etc.

Totally different style seal than we use in our race engines, and they look like Renesis only

Here is the R1s psi grid. I'm setting my psi at 31 all around.

If it should be different let me know.

Yes of course lol.

That psi is good?

Two tires were set at 28 (cold) and two at 32.5psi cold.

The Ianetti ceramics are quite expensive but NRS (http://www.nrsrotorsports.com/) ones are cheaper at about $1,500 CAD for 3mm one piece seals and springs when I bought them. For an NA 2mm would be fine so they are even cheaper.

Ionno, I've had such an amazing experience with them. and the fact that they survived 2 hardcore audible detanations at WOT ( 17 PSi @ 7,000-8,000 RPM @ 14 AFR when I looked down at the wideband). If I were to do it again though, I would get the 2 piece variety since my vacuum is low at idle (12-14 PSi) since one piece seals don't seal well at low RPM. I'm really glad Dave convinced me to get go ceramic since he knew what I was doing and what I'm aiming for (500+ rwhp with methanol injection)

Anyway, just thought I would throw it out there since you said you have to open your motor ever 24 hours of race time.

I have seen what the ceramic do to the housings over time, and the carbon apex seal is the cheaper alternative! And im too cheap to spend any more money right now!
