After the instructor session we can break it up into advance / beginner group...

I was humbled last time. I will be driving more carefully and using more of my brain...if I have any ha.

A lot of guys meet at Scarb mazda, actually most have been. I'm east so I just meet everyone there.

I am changing mine. There is no storage, just the side of the track. We have both tracks so everything should be safe.

this is where i get everyone pissed at me for not following the rules and what not
I know what you are saying Nate, but that is not the idea here. No one wants to marshal this, I have spoken to Al about this, and we are ONLY bring 24 cars so we don't have to worry about to many cars on the track at once. We are sitting at 23, with one spot open for Al's race car.

As for 20min on 20min off...ppl (including me) were running an hour, two hours + straight, with maybe the odd 5 - 10 min smoke break. Yes ppl stopped, but we don't want to have restrictions and groups. For me I am paying for 3 hours and if I want to run 3 hours I want to run 3 hours. That's how we first set this up.

Sorry Thewird! Next time for sure man!

If one opens up for whatever reason, if you pay you can come of course. But until then, we are full. Sorry Man! Next time for sure man!

Personally I don't like this idea, as I state above, and not what I'm interested in doing. I don't know about everyone else, but I want to run 3 hours and not sit on the side lines watching, every 20 min. I can do that at CSCS or the other events.

Why oh why must this get over complicated lol. History shows most people will not run for more than 10-15 minutes at a time (I know it feels like more but its not). We will never be close to having all the cars on the track at the same time. If there are a bunch of fast cars on the track then pull off for a bit, the fast cars will not be able to sustain their pace for more than a few minutes at a time.

DONT WORRY BE HAPPY!

^ I was just about to mention that. Since I don't have power steering and would be running 275 Hoosiers so I get tired after a while. At a track like Shannonville, I'm only usually on for ~10-15 minutes and then do a ~20 minute cooldown. I can do full 30 minutes at Mosport, but other tracks with tighter corners more often, get tired faster.

Smiles?

You can go ahead and do 3hrs straight.

My suggestion is based on my still recent newbie experience. I just want to give the newbie some comfort that they wont be too stressed by minimizing the chances of having much faster car on their butt right from the start - since they may look at the mirror too much.

And it happened to me, to Theif, to Jay, and I just want to reduce those chances.

Thank you.

Doesn't mean I'm not gonna drive it until it sells!

I doubt I'll be able to sell it sadly... the title scares off too many people, which is too bad because it's in amazing shape.

...its hard to define "smart" and "respect" when you have people with various culture, skills, and experience level.

We do have rules, ie, Slower traffic stay the course and its the responsibility of the faster driver to get past them. The best thing is to slow down at the beginning on the back straight though.

You pop my spin cherry at the track you of all people should know...or maybe you enjoy eating newbies for breakfast :P

its nice when they lift off the throttle to let you pass simple and safe the less time you spend side by side the less likely to have an issue

A couple of things now that we are close to our event.

All the 1st timers need to be there by 5pm so we can have a separate drivers meeting and go through some basics. I have a list that I did for our 1st event, and am posting it here, please read if BEFORE you get to the track and bring a copy of it!

Everyone who is going to drive must be there to sign waivers etc BEFORE 5:30pm

No one will go on the track before we have a group drivers meeting with all drivers present and accounted for. It is important for the event run smoothly that we all get together before anyone goes on track.

If you do spin out on the track DO NOT GET OUT OF YOUR CAR if its still running and can get back to the pits. Drive the car off the racing line back to the pit area.

Everyone else...DO NOT STOP ON THE TRACK TO HELP unless it is major with serious chances the driver is injured. Go back to the pit area and we will go and get the car once everyone else is off the track. Stopping on the track greatly increases the chances of it becoming a 2 car incident, or someone getting hit by a car.

I did notice when Thumpers car was here that the brake fluid has gotten hot a few times.(gee I wonder why) After this track day we will offer a special deal for flushing the brake fluid using Wilwood 570 performance brake fluid. Your price will be $115.00 including everything, 2 bottles of fluid, labor and taxes if your interested.

+1 agree...if someone is on your ***, the sooner you are off the throttle in the straight, the sooner the person behind is by, and you can get back on the throttle for the rest of the straight. NOOOO passing in corners **cough cough Josh** unless hazards are on, or being waved by.

Safe = FUN!

3 more days Woot Woot!!

I am going to leave the delaership at 1:30 on Friday I hate sitting in traffic on the 401 through Pickering, anyone who wants to convoy your welcome to come. We will be bringing the #01 car weather permitting, I want to do some testing with tire pressures and Shannonville is a safe place to do that. Looks like we will be a bit lean on instructors, I only have 3 confirmed, 2 have backed out at the last minute. I am trying to get 2 more to come, will keep you posted.

Again I am making the recommendation that you think about getting a helmet, if you have one, even a motorcycle one its better than nothing. After this event if you want to do a group buy on automotive I will see what I can do with Pyrotect on full face SA2005 rated helmets. They should be about $325.00 to $350.00 Cdn delivered here with taxes if we can get 10 or more people.

FYI this is a brake fluid comparison. One is fresh the other has 40 minutes of racing at Mosport on it, and keep in mind Mosport is not hard on brakes at all!

No Thumper wasent directed at you at all, I just noticed that brake fluid, coolant trans and diff are usually overlooked as regular maintenence items especially for cars that go to the track.....lol. We change our synthetic fluids (engine oil, Trans and Diff every 2 hours of track time. Brakes depend on where we run, Shannonville would be after 40 minutes Mosport about 80 minutes of racing. We also do radiator about 2-3 times a season. Greg paid a long time ago (I think)

RevRX8 still planning on bringing your race car?
