Quick question for you - those with 17" winter wheels & tires, what size is the tire?

Here's another one - do 16" wheels fit? Lower cost wheels, tires, and a higher sidewall to deal with the inevitable potholes.

16's wont fit if you have the "sport Suspension" I believe you can do a 16 if you have a non GT model (Don't quote me)

I don't remember the size of the 17" tires... if i think of it tonight I will look.

ON Blizzak LM-22

I have 3 winters on 17" Bridgestone Blizzak LM-22 on steel rims. I wouldn't use anything else. Be sure it is the LM-22 as they have an extra sticky compound, unidirectional and 'Z'-rated.

I bought four of these and went through one god awful winter with them.

I just love these tires. And the other guys are right, get four. I also when to 17 inch rims.

Cheers,
Troy

Our was on 225/50/17's last winter, they're 0.44% less than OEM in terms of diameter and circumference.

(Assuming 225/45/18's as stock, though 245/40/18's probably what many are runing)

Running 215/55/17 will put you 1.3% over stock
Running 205/55/17 will also work, putting you 0.36% less than stock.

Supposedly, the advantage of wide tires = more dry grip... but at the cost of decreased handling in snow, since it's harder to 'cut through' the snow...

Narrow tires will be less prone to understeer due to snow / water, but don't go tracking with them... because you just won't turn.
