Racing Brake Sport rotors and Hawk Ceramic pads - better braking heat dissipation (reduces brake fade) and low noise/dust. Check out forum vendor Fluidmotorsports.com (Brice).

No, you will not chew through these pads appreciably faster than stock and no, you will not void your warranty.

Having said this, the stock RX-8 rotors and pads are very good so you may want to spend your modding dollars elsewhere.

You're not going to stop significantly faster with different brakes. What you will do is withstand fade better. Are you going to be doing some serious road course racing? If so then perhaps an upgrade has merit. If not, use your money for something better.

Some better pads will have little cost. Just run regular solid rotors. If you want brake fluid that will stand up to fade, pick something with a high dry boiling point. Ford spec dot 3 fluid is cheap and will do the trick, but you'll have to change the fluid more often as it is more greatly affected by water absorption. Focusing on these areas will allow you to run lighter duty road course stuff.

IMO for the street there is little point in modding these cars. They handle really well already, there are no easy power mods that gain any appreciable power and brake capacity is not an issue. There are other cars where modifications are very worthwhile.

As far as brake fluid goes, we recommend Wilwood 570 for your street driven cars. The Motul RBF 600 is triple the money and I dont think you find any performance advantage. We use Wilwood 600 in the race cars, but for street/lapping day use the 570 is fine and is relatively inexpensive. Stock rotors with Hawk HPS or Ceramics is an inexpensive set-up that works fine for street/lapping days as well.

Contact Al (01racing) @ Scarborough Mazda, you might be able to get the club special.

There was a special on the HPS pads a while ago as well @ Scarborough Mazda

(Hawk HPS + performance brake fluids )

Sounds like a problem the yellow pages can solve.

Martial Arts ~ The Way of the Hand; Get 'em dirty.

Charles R. Hill (BHR) and FluidMS have the best Hawk prices around. TreRack has them as well.

... do you think about what you write? Why come here asking random forum people what something like a brake job [of some sort] costs? 1st, doubtful you even need what you ask about, 2nd, you don't want to do anything for yourself so you must not have much idea of what's involved, 3rd, then you should be going somewhere that works on cars (hopefully that's not beyond you?) and ask a knowledgeable person who does get their hands dirty working for a living to figure out for you what needs to be done.... THEN... they can tell you what THEY charge. THAT is your answer!

You are simply wasting everyone's time, yours included.

i find that statement interesting....retarded but interesting.. its a forum...almost no thought required you have a question or comment you post...simple, i also find it interesting that I am wasting peoples time by going on an rx8 forum to ask rx8 questions to rx8 fans and experts about what thier opinion and feedback is about a certain topic that i wish to discuss (OPEN FORUM)

as i shake my head in disbelief at just how stupid that comment is/was i see ******* entire threads about who saw whos car, 55 pages about some guy named dozer...etc....dude please

ps not wanting to wrench and get dirty is not a crime...you know i can enjoy the car without becoming a certified mechanic...and i damn well know i am allowed to ask quesitons on a forum....plus i do have an idea of whats involved..hence the reason i dont want to do it myself...any other brain farts?

Damn it, I missed this and ordered ATE Super Blue Brake Fluid from fluid motorsports. For whatever reason I figured your place would only have supplied regular fluid and I wanted something a little better for track days. I didn't want to bug you with every little question so did some searching on here and seems like a lot of ppl on here go with this. Big brain fart!

Looks like you have great prices on your Hawk pads tho!! But I have more of my OEMs to kill first
