Racing Beat Screens Installed

Finally got the 3 screens (2 oil coolers, 1 a/c and radiator screen) and got them installed. I decided because of the snow, I didn't want to drive out to Aurora to have them done (sorry, next mod RPM, I promise) and had mazda do it.

Feeling much better with the added protection as I was already getting a little oil cooler damage even after just 4 months ownership.

I remember QTWRE saying to me how he doesn't want it because it ruins the aggresive look of the oil coolers.

BTW, ZEROBIO, when I looked into the lower front opening of the car, I already find some sort of a factory installed screen for the A/C condenser. Doesn't yours have that already too? We're both 2007. Also, if you did have it, wouldnt' you now have two layers of protection?

Ummmmmm?????...the RB air duct is designed to connect where the stock or RB intake spot is( oval opening on the side of the intake box that faces the front of the car ).......the AEM cold air intake comes down behind the front bumper . behind where the front licence plate is, it completely eliminates the air box or the need for a ram air duct.

Yep, the Ram air might make sense for those with the tube and filter in the bay, but for those that have it down in the bumper...........it would defeat the purpose.

Good point, Footman. I didn't expect it to be there after seeing various installation pics but apparently that small a/c condenser screen is there since '07. I had it removed and the RB one installed instead. The RB screen covers the a/c area and rad whereas the smaller one was just for a/c and it has bigger mesh than the RB screen.

As for the agressive look of the oil coolers, I think it looks even nicer with the screens there. But maybe that's a combination of looks and feeling a bit more confident that they're protected somewhat.

My 05 had it there and obviously I took it out when the RB went in.
