I performed it on my car, but would not like to do it again. I remember it was very frustrating removing the connectors. Oh, and looking for that hidden bolt too. But I was glad I stuck through it because all it costed me was a soldering gun. The module is about $300 from the dealer? This DIY gives a good saving.

I have no cooling. it wont change from heat to cool as I turn the switch. As I turn the switch, the air mix actuator valve trys to move but stuck there. Can anyone tell me what's going on. The switch or the air mix actuator?

Put the dash into test mode and see if the Heat dial makes the numbers change in a linear manner...if not...the dial needs to be re-soldered like the DIY

If it does..it could be the actuator..but I think you will usually get heat on one side if the actuator fails ( someone confirm or deny this)

if you push track up and power at the same time you could see the 'a/c temp' on the display panel. Then if you turn your dial it should increment according to your dial movements. If not, then you got to take the unit out and do the DIY....a quick fix for the winter time is just to add some masking tape to the dial to heat side...it worked out for me when the weather turned cool at night in the fall....

Agreed, those connectors are a pain in the rear. Especially now that it is cold out. It is not technically difficult to do, just time consuming. The dash comes out rather easily and then you have to get that hidden bolt out. Once you are at the point and get the unit inside to where it is warm it does not take long to do and is really easy.

I did mine last year and remember it to be very easy.

Find any small electronic repair store (the kind that repair TVs, VCRs, etc) and pull out the module yourself and it should cost you about $20.
