There's no special voodoo required to open the cap. Just twist it left (counter-clockwise) as mentioned, HARD! It's a machine, not a baby. What is the dealer mechanic going to do when you bring it over? He'll turn it really hard. lol

If it breaks, I owe you a coke.
LoL Bet my son is wayyyyy stronger than you Mr... If the dealer breaks it then they fix it!

You need the aluminum MazdaSpeed oil cap. It never sticks.

In fact it is hard to keep it tight. And when it is hot, think about touching it first!

remove the dip stick to de-pressurize the oil chamber. It should work.

yea some days it takes a bit more muscle to remove it. Just force it...it'll unscrew (counter clockwise).

Did ya manage to get it off yet?

FWIW, there really shouldn't be that much (if any) vacuum pressure in there. Whoever screwed it on last probably just did it a bit too hard, or it seized for some reason.

I'm pretty sure if you just ask some guy in a parking lot he'll get it off for you
(pun intended)

Hi Leesha

The problem you are having is that most likely the dealer overtightened the cap. The best way to take it off is to use either a pair of really big vice grips or the really large gator pliers and make sure you spin it counter-clockwise, if you are afraid of damaging the cap just put a cloth over it before you grip it with the pliers or vice grip and EUREKA!!!!!!!!

the stock cap just sticks.....if you are just turning it and not pulling up or anything else it should come off....just take a bit of muscle......they can be really really stuck though. DO NOT HAMMER IT!!!.

A rubber hammer of course! But it shouldn't be necessary. A strap tool would be better.
