GTA meet point for Ottawa cruise!!!
GTA meet point for Ottawa cruise!!!
I expect to see some RX-8's this year from the GTA. Last year I think only 1 RX-8 manage to make the trek with us.
We meet at Fairview Mall North side parking lot (near the Sport Check) for 9:15-30am this Sat the 20th May!!
We have to be in Ottawa for the show at 2pm. So we would want to leave the mall around 9:45ish latest!!
Who's in?!

you probably won't see many because we all daily drive our 8's and don't have the luxury of driving a gas sipping mazda 3 every day. If you drove your 7 every day, how easy would you pony up the loot for a gas guzzling adventure??? Not to mention the chance of rain is pretty likely.
For me, I'm not going because the 2nd jewel(preakness) of the triple crown is on saturday.

So you're out to bust my ***** yet again, huh??
Sure, you guys drive your cars everyday, but I"m talking actually driving them the way you're suppose to drive them!! Stretch their legs out a bit! Don't let them get stuck to the everyday stop and go traffic BS!!
The 2nd Jewel of the what now???? Regardless, it can't be more important than going to Ottawa!! :D
Anybody else bowing out???
Lates,

Well, I wouldn't break your ***** if you people didn't complain about not having enough meets or not going "cruising'. You guys are all the same... "We don't go anywhere... Where do you guys want to drive??" And then when the oppertunity arrives you guys don't show up or you're busy.
The sport of kings?!?! You're watching Formula 1 on Sat.??? Because everything else is just a game!!! :D

Hotel can be figured out when we get there. There are more than a few people putting a tent up to stay in the yard or what not. Only the people worried about their backs get hotel rooms. But I know a few people who will be getting a motel relatively close to the hosts house...
Meet you at the GTA meet point!!
Lates,
Meet you at the GTA meet point!!
Lates,
Hahaha, like Neo would ever sleep in a tent!!
There are quite a few hotels/motels in the area. In the past, people have usually booked their rooms once here so everyone could stay in the same place.
There doesnt seem to be much interest from the RX-8 owners on this board, but in years past we've had pretty good turnouts. The year the 8 came out, we had quite a few come on the cruise and show us what modern suspension design can do on crazy Quebec roads.
The weather seems to finally be cooperating, so I hope to see some of you there!

I had a great drive on the roads from Ottawa and around Tremblant and on south to
Oka.
The 327 in particular was a blast as there were plenty of mid corner bumps that the 8 just soaked up.
I'd like to see an oversprung, improperly valved super stiff car handle those at the speeds the plush 8 car manage. Certain German cars come to mind.
I would think a stock 8 on those roads would be able to keep out of the scenery while safely keeping up with just about anything - other cars - not so much.
Brakes? Never Faded - Beeps? Never Stopped.
Only problem is fuel range - about 200km MAX.

Thanks for the info guys. It seems like its going to be a great trip! I'm hoping you meet you at Fairview! I've got some groveling and pleading left to do, but I think I'll be able to swing it. BTW, what time do you guys normally get back to the GTA on Sunday? The whole thing is resting on my ability to be back here by 7:00 p.m. Sunday night. I've read that the Sunday cruise starts around 9 a.m. and will run 3-4 hours. Do you leave right after? I'm assuming you do, and this would be manageable (leaving Ottawa by 2 should give enough time to be safely back before 7).
Later!
Later!
Well, normally people leave right after the cruise. Since this year will be significantly shorter than previous years, I think you should be alright leaving by 2pm. Don't quote me on that...
Some people will be staying the whole weekend while others leave as soon as the cruise is over.... It's your call... don't want you to get in trouble or anything... :D

Lates,
The forecast is all over the place... Hopefully this is the right one:
