Fall Season drive: Forks of the Credit
#180
I would have loved to have completed the cruise (actually, starting it would have been better)
I want to thank Pros and I think it was Thumper for helping me out.
Got the car towed back home, awaiting troubleshooting from some of the Elite Hardcore Canuck squad.
As soon as the car is operating again, I will be selling her.
She is causing me too much trouble whenever I want to drive her. So as soon as I get her up and running again, I'll get rid of her.
Now I'm seriously looking at getting a replacement vehilce. Such as an R8.

Yeah, I thought when we went straight at that stop sign things didn't seem right. Oh well, still a great cruise!

Yes, I was actually talking about the Audi R8. It would be a significant upgrade.
Thanks Thumper. I'm still on the fence regarding the car. You know how it is. You get fustrated when you pore your heart and soul into a vehicle and all it ever does is give you trouble when you want to enjoy it.
We'll see what the outcome is come spring. For now there's no point in worrying about it. Season is over.
How's everyone winter tires looking? lol

Post some pics people!
Thanks for coming out everyone, the bail out rate was 15% only! an all time low for RX8club people AHAHAHAHA ..... 2 out of 13 originally on the list didn't show up.
RX8hoser and I were at the front of the line. As we were heading from meet point 1 to meet point 2, we witnessed a terrible car accident right in front of us. One of the cars involved almost swerved directly into my right side too! Damn that would have been real spiteful!
Maybe, I'll post up "my picture" (ahem, 5 year old hand drawing) of what happened....
Then at meet point 2, Neo showed up in a ....... MX-5
The brotherhood of the rotary banded again as all of us went to Neo's house to try to push start his FD. We got it working and diverted our original cruise route to start at Bolton, ON. But then it died again and that's when we had to keep the cruise going... sorry Neo.
We got lost once in the Hockley valley, my mistake I didn't zoom in fully to see the junction should have been a right turn instead of straight. We got it sorted it out and continued to push forward. The Hockley valley region was very beautiful, with nice elevation changes and sloping curves. We were running a little behind schedule so the speed picked up in some places.
Made it once around the Forks of the Credit and was tremendously slowed down by 2 vans in front of us doing like 15 km/h! WTF, I got so impatient I started honking the slow *** drivers in front of us. They moved to the side finally but it was the end of the twisty parts anyways We stopped at the Grange Sideroad as the end of Part 1. Took a breather, took group photos, laughed and joked. I think my camera almost got ran over by a vehicle.
By this time, the sun was dawning. It was getting dark... dark enough to use the low beams on our cars for illumination. Everyone was hungry, and out of interest for everyone's stomachs and the safety of driving unknown roads at night, we did not complete part 2 of the cruise. We went through enough of part 2 to get us to Georgetown.
At first we didn't find that Barber Towne Pub, and we stopped at a Petro Canada to ask a bunch of street racing thugs. They were so ghetto. The saw all our rx8's and the guy asked me "yo, you guys wanna race?" The guy was driving an RSX. Man, that's really ghetto.... being offered like that.
It took us a while to find the Barber Towne Pub, and that place was ghetto and shady too. The sign outside was not lit so we had trouble finding it and seeing it at night. I went inside first (a yellow man), followed by Nate340 (a black man), and we sat down, and the waitress was like "sorry we don't serve your kind here..." LOL j/k... ok what she said really was "sorry, we are closing at 8pm (it was 7:30pm), so we only have drinks now"
We promptly left and went across the street to Shoeless Joes. Our waitress was really cute. I liked her quite a bit. Too bad it's Georgetown though, too far away.
At the dinner table, were 8 of us. We started with 12. The 13th car was Cerone that showed up at La Paloma to say hi to us! What committment! Kafka had to go back to his piano bar after the Forks. Hayaku mysteriously disappeared. I tried to call him, and his phone was off. RX8hoser left just on the outskirts of the Forks of the Credit cause he had business to attend to that evening. Neo's car died before we hit Bolton.
What an adventurous day people! There is life in the Rx-8 community! See you all next spring!

BTW - You forgot to mention the amount of times Jay was pulled over

I forgot my camera at home...will post later.
So that's why the vans got out of the way I thought they got the hint from Thief and I swerving back and forth across the whole road. Nice job fearless leader
U want her number?? She wrote it on the back of my bill.
I'm good for some winter meets, but not cruises. I do my best not to drive much in the winter. Save the km and the extra potential dangers/stupid fukin idiots that don't know how to drive in the winter.
HAHA poor Jay!!

I got tons of pics...will post tonight
And thanks for organizing this Footman. As much as I am sick of the BS in this forum, I have to realize we all have other trobules to deal with, and driving the Rx-8 listening the roar of rotaries taking off is one of the few things that truly makes me happy...

That's the beauty of the rotary engine. You can't have anyone tail gate you because they'll pass out from the exhaust fumes! lol
I've been talking to a few of my RX-7 friends, and they're going to help me get the car back up and running in the spring. I'm going to have a big BBQ meet at my place to try to get the car up and running again.
And then, if nothing else goes wrong, I'll end up keeping her for awhile longer. Or I can sell it if I see a nice Audi R8 for sale.
Don't worry guys, I'll still come out for meets. Regardless of the vehicle I have.
RX-8 hoser,
As it turns out the Mazda6 goes back at the end of the year because the lease is up. My old man is seriously looking at an Audi A5 or a 3series coupe.
The CX-7 goes back the following year and I'm not sure what'll they get as a replacement. My Mum still wants an ML Benz, but I think with the price of fuel, she'll settle for a new C-class or something like that.
