Fall Season drive: Forks of the Credit

I left with Kafka actually, lol. Timing was kind of good.
Previous dinner engagement was bigger than expected.
New World restaurant food > *
Anyway, that was a nice route (with the detours and all) that you planned, so thank you.
Btw, Greg and the other guy in the silver (sorry I forgot your name). You 2 are ******* nuts, peeling past that Torrent(?) right after the light lol.

That other silver was actually a Winning Blue RX-8. I'm not sure who he was. And My, I mean his, tires had full traction! No peeling! The lane was clear. Hell, if I can't out accelerate a Torrent, I'm selling my car

yeah, someone hit the brakes hard. in front of me was rotarygreg going on the 400 northbound ramp. He slammed, so I had to slam, and I also had to swerve to the right to prevent plowing into his back! what happened on that on-ramp up ahead?
"In today's news, there was a 4 car pile up in an alleged street-racing incident on the 400 on ramp. 4 Mazda RX-8s were piled up as a result. Sargeant Cam Wooley suspects that speed was a factor in the accident."
That would have been how the ******* media would have portrayed it.

I dont think that was me. i dont remeber that at all anyways, and i was almost certain that saguine was behind me when we got on the 400, if not him, than some other silver 8, cause i remeber i stuck with the lead group when we got sort of spilt by traffic there and all i could see was a silver 8 way behind us. If im wrong, sorry for causing a panic but i must have had a good reason to slam the binders on, im not a fan of slowing down to begin with so...haha
yeah, and hoser, i was debating taking that torrent....should i ....shouldnt i....**** it. BEEP! haha.
Greg
Edit: Also, this was a very eventful cruise, i mean, the accident you guys were almost involved in on the way to point 1, Jay getting pulled over, then this on ramp incident footmans talking about, the FD quiting, the map issue, the sketchy bridge, the vans at the forks....are they always that crazy?

True... I must say this has made closing 2008 a very memorable event. When I say closing, I don't mean like we won't do **** in the winter; just that this is the last major event
Let's see now... what to plan for winter... heheheh...

Dude
It was awesome to hear from you. Sorry I couldn't make the tour with you guys. But I appreciate the phone call.
The forks of the credit is a really nice drive, especially this time of the year and what a day you had for it.
/<start thread jack>/
Listen I'm on holidays from November 10th to 14th we should hook up for some idle banter, beers and food at D&B (or something)
I haven't bought the turbo yet but .... I really think I'm going to... just have to get over this market crash.
I do have a list of things I'm going to be doing to the car this winter, we can discuss over beers
When are you putting your winter tires on? I can maybe meet you in the Rav4 so you don't have to put the tires in your car. Gawd is there even any tread left on them?

As for winters.. if you believe the weathernetwork.ca then there's a chance for some slight snow next Wednesday (as in the 29th)... but then... who can tell what will actually happen.
Oh well... skiing soon. booyahh.
PS: I say we take over Blue Mountain (yes crappy, but close and cheap) at some point this year.... driiiiffffffffffftttttttttt

A long time ago, in a galaxy not that far away, there was a bunch of homos with wankel...oh wait, I was writing for another story.
I mean, man, I still remember awhile ago not that far away, Footman was commenting the Canadian forum is dead.
And dead it is. So dead that, we ended up recruiting street racers into our crew for Sunday's cruise. You know who I am talking about...ha.
The planning of the cruise was perfect, thanks to the super analytic branic on steorid Footman's engineering approch. We were supposed to go from point A, to B, to C, to....eventually reache some point and have dinner.
However, as Tom Clancy said, "Assumption is the mother of all fucked ups."
And fcked up we did.
We nearly crashed on 400 north due to an unexpected brake check from some unexpected Rx8 induced by some unexpected traffic.
We went on detour to get Neo's mint Rx7, only ended up push started it not once, but twice, and it still end up on a flatbed back to his house.
We also somehow got splited into groups of three at times due to over 11 cars convey. I believe we have the highest concentration of Rx8 in Tornoto/Ontario/Canada of the day, and the sound of tons of rotaries taking off was just euphoric.
And of course, we have the taka taka taka silver rx8 with a catless cat which promptly get caught by the poopoo in italiano town.
Sometimes we were lost, but more than anything, all of us enjoy the ride with a bunch of fellow rotary lovers.
There is just something special about driving through the winding road with maple leafs all over the road...and the sound of the backfire popopo between shifts...
Moreover, we finally ended up dirving in Forks of Credit. And it was anti climatic due to the minvans...regardless, it is a good road IF no one is there...
I have to go around 6:30pm, but I did managed to take some group photos on the way...
As for me, I will remember this moment:
I would like to thank Footman again for organizing this, and people who showed up and have a great time. Moreover, we will make sure we address the communication / coordination problem next time with the use of walkie/talkie or other telecommunication solutions...
Check it out in the photobucket link yourself :P

Thief send me your youtube user / pwd so I can post the clip of us push starting the Rx7...or maybe not :P

Great shots Kafka,
Looks like you guys had a blast. I did get a call from Footman around 7ish. You guys got to the pub rather late.
As for our cruises, it isn't a rotary meet until one of us breaks down. This time it was yours truly.
It's also not a cruise unless 1 of us gets pulled over. Sorry to hear about the police trouble Pros.
I do want to thank Pros and Thumper again for helping me out. Sorry to keep you guys back.
The car is back in the garage and won't be going anywhere till spring. I'll be having a BBQ spring meet to get the FD back up and running. So keep your spring calendars open!
Hevnsnt,
It's a long story buddy. I'll fill you in later.
