clear bra in vancouver?

anyone have a clearbra installed in vancouver?

where did you get it installed?
looking for a shop that is **** about installs so that if they mess up, they'll fix it!

also does anyone know if it will discolour the paint job like a regular bra?

thanks!

Hi hope you haven't lost interest in the clearbra (haven't read the board in a while)!
There's a shop called Trim Line that does installation, I got mine from them in feb and it's so far so good there haven't been any discolourations at all! And yes Trim Line is pretty good, they tell me if there's any defects within 2 yrs just bring it in and they'll try to fix it

Any idea how much these cost?

I've only had my RX8 for a week and I've already got a rock chip on my front hood. Looks like I'm going to have to look into once of these.

On a somewhat related note.. Does anyone have any recommendations for repairing rock chips? I've never had to deal with this before and I don't want the repair job to look bad.

Thanks!

hey. thanks for the (one and only) reply to my thread!

the only thing i'm worried about is discolouration over time ... maybe i'll wait a little longer before getting it done.

thanks again!

I got mine for like about 600 bucks (close to 700?) for headlights, side mirrors, foglights, front bumper and hood. but the guy said he's gonna charge at least 800 for the next one cause he didn't realise how hard it was to do the 8's kit cause of all the curves and stuff especially near the headlights.
no probs but I would highly recommend getting it if you have black or osmething cause white stonechips on a black stands out WAY more.
To fix small chips, go get a $5 bottle of touchup paint from your dealer, the key is doing it slowly and very little at a time for each coat!

I had my clear bra installed by the dealer who included it with the purchase, front hood, fenders and headlights. I asked them how much their supplier would charge for the whole front bumper and I was told $400-$500. I pondered for a bit and thought that after a couple of years (maybe more) I may need to take it off and do it again if the clear bra gets really nasty from the stones. Also, I was told by the dealership that a replacement bumper is about the same price, but probably cheaper to have it repainted at a body shop. I'm starting to think that the added cost of doing the bumber may not be worth it. I do need to get my mirrors done though.

Does anyone have any pictures of what this actually looks like when it is complete?

I had a clearbra installed by Trimline in Cornwall, Ont, The Trim line guy in Ottawa didn't want toi install the fender piece because of the curves.

It cost me 575 plus tax for the whole thing. The also warrantteed their work. I received good reviews from 3M Canada on trimline.

And no it does not discolour the paint but you do see the edge when close.

Another benefit: The bugs come off a lot easier than on the paint.

I think it's worth it, my better half doesn't like the line.
