Waverly road off the 401?? Whereabouts is that?
I'm coming from castlemoore so I'll be going across the 401. If I eye a Waverly exit and I'm on time, I'll stop by. I'll be in the miata.

Waverly road is the exit after Holt if I recall ... in any event keep an eye out and you should be able to spot the Waverly Road Exit (it's basically regional road 57) that runs north.

If I'm around on time or I spot your cars at the gas station I'll pull in as well cya all there!

It looks like the 401 exit is "RR 57", then Waverly rd jogs off on the right.
I'll be there soon!

Yep, once you get the taste of the track speed, there's nothing like it.

Thanks again to everyone for organizing the event. One of the few events I look forward too every year.
On top of that, we get to help out SickKids. Can't top that!

Great to see some new faces as well as the regulars making it out. It's been too long for some of us.

Can't wait for the next get together. I'm hoping there's a fall cruise coming up in the next little bit. Before you know it, there'll be snow on the ground.

Thanks again everyone! See you soon.

That was a blast, especially the double time, first shotgun in the Evo, then my own RX8. Learned a lot, mostly that I have a lot to learn.

Looking forward to the next one. In the meantime though, someone post some pics!

Thanks to everyone who came out, Thanks Al, Andrew & the BEMC team again. Believe we raised $755 for Sick Kids and thanks to all those who could not make it out for their generous donations as well.

No mishaps or mechanical breakdowns this time which I believe is a first, a great day overall.

Thank you all for organizing the event! Just sent $775.00 off to Sick Kids so we all did a good thing! Must thank Erin Mills Mitsubishi and Mitsubishi Canada for the EVO what a great Pace Car!!!

We are invited back next May for BEMC's 1st event if you want to go out again!

A few suggestions for next time (should you decide to do it again lol):

Advanced group: will only be for previous participants who have shown that they can keep up pace. Once again we really didnt complete one "hot lap" because we had too many cars that fell back from the pace car.

Novice group: Those who wish to go out and get a taste of what some speed is around the big track at Mosport. This really isnt for someone who just wants to take a drive around Mosport and see the track. There are other days that do provide what I call parade laps for that type of driving.

Just an opinion lol

I heard my group list wasn't enforced on the day of. That could be reason. Everyone on that advanced group I am sure wasn't holding back the group.

The only reason I posted my comments is because after every session I get the drivers complaining to me about the pace. Like i said when we got togther before we went out, my commitment to BEMC is to keep it safe for all on track. We cant risk someone trying to keep up and have them end up hitting a wall etc. The pace speed is dictated by the field behind it. Scottish did a great job of hanging in when the pace picked up but there were times when I couldnt even see another car behind him and had to slow down. Scottish did learn a lot about driving his mirrors lol.

I agree. I mean, the event was still for SickKids so I won't voice my 2 cents too much but I will a bit :P

I'm not sure if it was an issue of us not following Footman's list or whatever but there is definitely some miscommunication about what the "advanced" group's pace was supposed to be. I'm really glad that Al started off the day by saying "hey if you wanna try Advanced that's fine but if you're not keeping up with everyone, PIT OFF - we'll let you on again later" which I thought was very fair and made logical sense. Except no one did that...

We should really emphasize that last point - you can try advanced pace if you want but if you see a traffic jam behind you and an airfield in front of you, perhaps consider pitting off and just try again later. It's no biggie, not everyone has track experience. No one's judging so there's not pride you have to swallow I nearly shat myself the first time I went out tracking with you folks so I know the feel. bro.

But again, all for a good cause and great seeing you guys again. I have some video footage but I'll see if its worth uploading... ahah the pace when compared to my other videos... well... might not really make it much of a show :P

I really tried to come out and eventually made it to the track but by then it was far too late.

My car required camber and caster bushings and bolts and everything was frozen solid requiring six hours of air hammer, penetrating oil etc to remove.
I wish we could have made it out for the track time; My car was scary bad before the work.

Thanks to Al for still supporting us, Andrew and Rick for organizing and BEMC for giving our group the time. I look forward to next year.
