Got two email responses for more info:

EMAIL #1:
We run our club like a school - so you have to go through our program (i.e. start in the Beginner group and work your way up through testing).

The event runs 7AM to about 4PM and you get close to two hours of track time (4 run groups get 4 25 min sessions each).

You have to be a member of PDC ($40) to attend. Cost of the event is $200. There are no discounts available sorry (we are a non-profit club and feel our fees are VERY reasonable considering our track days include instructor by certified instructors).

If you are interested in participating - you should sign up right away b/c the run groups fill up fast in the summertime.

If you have any other questions - feel free to contact me again.

Sincerely,

Jonathan Suzuki

EMAIL #2:
Thank you very much for your interest in PDC DE Events. Our events start at around 7:15am beginning with vehicle tech inspections and drivers meeting. Please refer to http://www.performancedriversclub.org/faq.asp for more information.

I have Cc'ed our President and Treasurer and they will be able to answer your inquiry about group rates.

We have very limited spaces left for the July 23rd event. Please register ASAP to secure your spot and please sign up for your membership for the year 2007 at:

http://www.performancedriversclub.org/membership.asp

Membership is required to participate in PDC events.

Looking forward to meeting you at Mission!

Thanks,
Brian Yeung

What are you talking about Dan! LOL. Haven't seen you on the track this year yet, where have you been? I'm pretty much going to miss the rest of this track season because I'll be out of town for work, next year I gues.

Who has registered for PDC membership and the July 23rd "Driver Education"?
I just did and I hope to see at least a few other 8's out on that day. I would have gone for the 3 day course but I'm out of town for 2 of the dates. Looking forward to it though.

It was awesome! Even with the rain in the morning making the track slippery it was an experience that all rx-8 owners should take part in one day. Until you get it out on a track you won't really know how good a car we have.
The day started of with a classroom session teaching general track stuff.
The first driving session there was an instructor driving your car showing you the track with us drivers taking over halfway through the session. The second last sessions we were on our own with no instructor. The other sessions the instructors just sat and gave us feedback.
It was good to take it very slow in the beginning to concentrate on the techniques being taught. Each session we would gain more confidence. In the last few sessions the track dried up enough and passing was allowed. The rx-8 does very well at the mission track, just ask the Porsche 911 driver that couldn't get me off his back and the BMW M3 that kept getting smaller and smaller in the rear view mirror!
I'll try to get some pictures soon and I'm sure Tim will have some up soon as well.
The next driver education day is early Sept. Spots will fill up very fast so register now if you want to be there, I definately recommend it.
Maybe one day down the road we could have our own bcrx8 club tent and pit area with a small group from our club. That would be really cool!

Talking I completely agree with you Collin.

I completely agree with you Collin.

That was a truly worthy experience all our members should enjoy. I felt it brought out the best aspect of a car club: Friendships, and the sharing of exciting driving experiences. Our club, should be drivers club first. Everything else seems second priority right now. Hate to say it, but the club logo, website, although important, don’t capture the essence of what a true driver’s club should have. If we are going to advertise our club we need to have something to ensure our commitment to club values by demonstrating what is most important about a club: “Social impact”, that is the impression we have on others, and other clubs. I almost believe that, to enhance our club, we need to enhance our drivers, and driving habits first.

The community seen at the mission race club was very good learning experience about club growth. Most of the drivers are impressive owners who made it an effort to establish friendships with new comers. While others, where accidental friendships waiting to happen. I want our club to gain the advantages seen here, while avoiding the one or two riff raff that can plague an excellent club.

It is this driver’s hope, that the highest level of contribution to the club comes in the form of our driver enhancement, and through excellent and consistent driving records *winks*.

Let’s all agree on the image we want to portray as the highest inspiration of the BC RX8 club. I met a member of the local RX7 club there (I won’t mention names). Let’s make sure we don’t suffer the growing pains of incompatible members. Let's ensure new members have the same aspirations of gaining excellent driving skills and a little dose of humility.

I need to end on a positive note: This was so much fun, I would have paid more. I learned so much, such as: how much I still want to learn today! that I am even more enthusiastic about our club now! We have so many basic member advantages as is. After yesterday, I think I’m going to form rank and file behind Collin and Dan’s example of positive driving role models.

The rain clouds in the picture where removed, because this photographer can remove rain clouds.... and add the reflections in the cars. I hope it is not to obvious.
