exciting maybe from a business standpoint, however its pretty lame news IMO. the scion brand offers about the lamest cars second to kia and even some of the new kias look pretty sharp. the scion thing is all about big chrome wheels and audio systems.

the only time ive seen them in motorsports was that celebrity race thing and that was so aweful it gave me the *****.

a guy i go to school with bought his wife one of those xB's. its some special "Dubb edition" or something gay like that. Its got 22" chrome wheels on a car based off of an echo, designed after a cardboard box. He says its the biggest regret. the cost was out of this world and he wouldnt be caught dead it in.

sure, they are putting in their newish 2.4L into them all now (which is a good move. thats a really decent engine) but its slow as a standard power automatic rx8 (thats a joke of course), could be outhandled by a semi, and has a stopping distance that would make a 1500 chevy seem impresive.

of course, no offense to you Al. just the brand. I may one day be interested in a scion or a toyota. you know. 20-30 years down the road when my hair is turning grey. lol

Okay, 1st thing is Kafka dont bother writing any letters not worth the time or aggravasion. 2nd the Scion thing is all about branding and a following which I think is cool. 3rd I just picked up my 2010 Tundra SR5 Double Cab with the 5.7 IForce engine and 6spd auto. This is 381HP and 401 Ft Lbs of torque.
This 5400Lbs truck is faster than my Speed 6 was! I turned off the traction control and it smoked the rear tires to the rev limiter in 1st gear! All be it the Tundra is boring looking, the thing doesnt have a creak squeak or groan in it and once i order my next truck..........I know what to order now I love it! lol Imagine that engine in an RX8 or RX7 race car..........Oh by the way its all aluminum too!

this is true. those trucks have some serious *****. When i worked at toyota we installed a TRD supercharger on one when they first came out for some TRD rep or something like that. the truck had every thing on it allready, TRD exhaust and all that. TRD claims the truck would make 505hp with the supercharger on. it was kind of funny. after the install the tech and i went for a rim. the truck was absolutely useless. way too much power and the traction control didnt realize what was going on. it was always grabbing the rear brakes trying to keep the truck straight and it ended up being really slow off the line because of it. turn off the traction control and it just sits there and spins and wouldnt move even with mid throttle. crusing at 60km/h, drop the hammer and it would brake loose no problem (with the trac off). So Al, make sure you get one of thsoe on the truck too, you know, so you arent late for work or anything. haha. BTW, the kit cost like 12 grand plus install!!!!!!!!

I have been there quite a few times already but officially start on Monday. I really dont think Mazda would care if you wrote the letter, so dont waste your time.

No way it's faster than the Speed6. Best I've seen for that combo is 14.9 at 94mph, which is similar to my new Ram with 390hp and 407ftlbs. Nissan and GM have good motors too in this power range, though the GM is the biggest pig MPG wise, while Ford has no competitive V8's.

But a powerful V8 is neat, I have duals on my Hemi and it sounds sweat. But I'm still happiest with my renny...

I have had 5 Mazdaspeed 6's over the last 3 years. While on the drag strip under ideal conditions, melting clutches trying to launch them, hurts gearboxes trying to flat foot shift them etc, they might pull off a good ET. In the stop light grand prix the Tundra would leave it sitting there up to about 70 mph at least.
