16" snow tires??

Hi all,

I'm new to the forum and am thinking about leasing a RX8-GS. The only thing I'm wondering is winter driving with this car, and the type of snow tires it will need.

I've read in a couple of posts that people have put Blizzaks 17" amongst other choices. But is it possible to put 16" winter tires on a RX8? I'm looking to minimize cost since I'm only leasing the car for a few years, so it'll probably only go through 2 winters. But unfortunately in Ontario, winters get harsh

Thanks for the replies!

What price did you guys get 17" tires + wheels for? And should I order them early?

You can find all this info by doing a search in this section for "winter tire" - it'll be Canada specific!

If you browse the sticky threads at the top of the Tires and Wheels section, you'll find a few more winter threads, and a similar search there will turn up plenty more posts about wheel and tire selection.

By the way, "winter tire' and "Blizzak" are NOT synonymous - there are plenty of other equally good and better winter tires on the market! Read some of the previous winter tire threads, and you'll be ready to ask more specific questions.

Regards,
Gordon

Thanks Gordon!

Anyone have experience with the Yokohama's Ice Guards or Hancook W30's? I've read alot about the Toyo's, so were wondering how the Yoko's and Hancooks do.
