Timbo - you raised a good point... I also need a notebook that provides a power source from the car's 12V system... I have used an Inverter to change the notebook on long trips, but they can be a bit "dodgy"... What are the brands that also provide a 12V source as an option????

timbo, thanks for posting that info.

To be honest, It's unlikely there will be really cool gauges on the PocketPC. The gauges we're using aren't supported on Windows Mobile (Windows CE). Minimising battery power use by minimising CPU is a big issue for the PocketPC too, so avoiding the grunt required to drive gauges is probably a good thing too.

You can get 12v switchmode laptop supplies (often as an airplane/car option) - I'd be looking at one of these, although I do currently use an inverter and haven't had any problems with it. Got it 1/2 price at a Jaycar sale.

On the MS office thing... the cheapest way to get office is OEMed when you buy a PC. I'm not that I'm saying you should give up your open source stuff... just if you ever want to acquire a copy of Office, when you get a new PC is ideal.

So, not to bring up an old thread, but a search did not find any other posts regarding this. I am looking for the sCANalyser Live USB, and everything I see says 'coming soon'. Does anyone know how to find this to buy or does anyone know of a comparable tool with similar qualities?

This link may be useful:

http://lmgtfy.com/?q=sCANalyser

According to Hymee's site (Performance Design Australia) it retails for $99 USD + shipping or $149 AUD including shipping and can be purchased by direct contact.

I'm doing OK. Big life changes.

If anyone wants the famed Hymee SS Catback, I will make more if I get 10 (minimum) pre-paid orders. This is the only way I can support having more made. Please spread the word!

Cheers,
Hymee.

If you can collectively all rustle up a minimum order of 10 units (worldwide) I will do them for $1250 AUD each, plus shipping. So spread the word, and I can make it happen. (I own the jig, so you cannot get them anywhere else ;-) I gotta resurrect something out of life!)

PS - 2 more SC kits going for a discount.

Cheers,
Hymee.

Hi Hymee
I am looking for the cat back ss exhaust for my 2007 RX8. Is there any prospect of this becoming available?

MD Another run of Hymee cat back ss exhausts

I have had a PM from Hymee. He would do another run if he can get 10 buyers from anywhere on the planet. I am in if this if it could be organised fairly soon.

Hymee has indicated to me that he will produce the units if a group buy can be organised. Maybe if one of the moderators here (or someone who knows more about the process than I do ) could move his post above to the group buy section (does the group buy have to be approved?) then I think we could get this up and rolling?
We also need a similar notice on RX8.com.au to ensure he gets the numbers he requires however at the moment I cannot log on there so I assume they have a technical issue.

This Thread dose not get a whole lot of visibility on the forum. I think we would have a Fighting Chance of making the exhaust happen if someone was to start a thread in the Group buy section.

TThis means we now have two of us from Australia and one in the US after a couple of days.If we can keep this up we will have the numbers in less than a week! Is there anyone reading this who has the knowhow to get this listed in the group buy section on this site.
By the way the proposal is now an approved group buy on the Australian site .

Re. Hymee ss cat back

It is a classy piece of equipment.Have a look at his web site (see Hymee post above for address) I recently paid AU $1400 plus for Toda stainless steel headers for a Civic EG 6 and you can carry those under one arm! Lol . I figure that since the RX8 is a relatively up market , undeniably unique car it deserves a quality exhaust which delivers the soundtrack it should have come with from the factory.

Hymee cat back

We now have 6 orders .Only 4 more needed.Come on people we need to get this over the line.Hymee has just put a long post in the Lounge section of Rx8 club.com.au which explains why he has had a somewhat lower profile on these pages in recent times. Now is the time to step up and support a long time backer of this community and at the same time get yourself a quality automotive product.

No response in 2 months, no support or response for people who already bought ProTuner at a heavy price tag, this has been an ongoing issue for several years so you might want to think twice ...

Thanks for your input. He has recently been through some major relationship and business issues and has even had to relinquish his RX8 ( see his public post on RX8.com.au) He is in the process of bouncing back and his friends in the RX8 community here in Australia have stepped up and given their support based on their dealings with him over a number of years.I do not personally know Mark however I have received a number of assurances from those that do know him indicating he is a decent trustworthy guy. It should also be noted that the moderators at RX8.com.au were very happy to allow this group buy process to proceed which I personally found very reassuring.

Edit Re above post. I meant to refer to Rx8club.com.au (left "club"out ....think I had what we here in Australia refer to as a "seniors" moment.)
