Hymee... one more for you... can you plot power on that graph?... interested to see what correlation there is to air flow, as per my post on rx8club.com.au

Yep. I did that the other night. Only at 500 RPM increments. I need to learn some more on Excel. I need to find someone from Microsoft...

BTW - there is a very direct correlation to power. One of my other plots shows the air flow dipping slightly where the power dips.

Cheers,
Hymee.

Just for shock value.

Aug-03 deliveries of sold RX-8's exceeded the total sales of series-6 (92-95) & series-7 (96-98) RX-7's in Oz.

Had a lot to do with ripping off the Aussie enthusiast, but thats another story.......

August Sales were as good as any, it would be interesting to find out how many of these cars they are bringing into the country a month?

Sold 137 RX8's in August and that brings the Year To Date to 1258.
Just as a comparison the 350Z sold 92 in August and only 736 for the year.
Easy to see which is more popular!! :D
State by state is as follows using the following set out -
State - Aug'04 - YTD'04 - Aug'03 - YTD'03.

ACT - 2 - 16 - 7 - 9
NSW - 55 - 482 - 81 - 142
NT - 0 - 1 - 3 - 4
QLD - 27 - 280 - 52 - 85
SA - 11 - 71 - 11 - 20
TAS - 0 - 11 - 2 - 5
VIC - 30 - 313 - 70 - 126
WA - 12 - 84 - 16 - 29

The interesting point this month is the number of sales in S.A.....they are matching last August's "mad rush to get into an 8" figures. Well done Croweaters!

I was just going to comment on the high cost of the last RX-7's affecting their sales numbers, as I had mis-read DMRH's post. I initially thought he was commenting on the RX-8 being expensive.....

September figures are in and they are the lowest yet. This was due to typhoons which shut the Mazda factory in japan several times last month and stopped shipping. Mazda 3 sales suffered severly! There were 115 sold in total last month bringing this years tally up to 1373. This compares to 151 sold September last year and 571 ytd last year.
State by state is as follows (state - sep '04 - ytd '04 - sep '03 - ytd '03)
ACT - 2 - 8 - 5 - 14
NSW - 31 - 513 - 60 - 202
NT - 0 - 1 - 0 - 4
QLD - 34 - 314 - 21 - 106
SA - 6 - 77 - 8 - 28
TAS - 1 - 12 - 3 - 8
VIC - 32 - 345 - 45 - 171
WA - 9 - 93 - 9 - 38

Mazda Australia's July 2005 sales result saw the company improve by 14 per cent on July 2004’s previous record of 4666 retails.

106 RX-8's sold in Australia in July....

Just recieved a bit of more information relating to Yellow RX8'S :D

Thank you for your recent email. To date Mazda Australia has sold 82 Lightning Yellow RX-8s, 67 of these are manual.

Yours sincerely

Mazda Customer Service
GD4/8

This clearly shows that the yellow drivers are a spirited bunch out of a total of 82 Yellow sales in Australia 67 are 6 speed manuals .

Is the ratio any different amongst other colours Michael?

Revolver I'm thinking the exact same thing.

The ratio on other colours could well be better.
I've seen 2 yellow rx8s in my life.
They were both auto.

Well, we will see what Michael comes up with.

BTW Tuan, you coming to the Nats?? - I've got you in the YES list that Timbo initially put together but I just wanted to get confirmation from the guys in that list 'cause it was begun a few weeks ago now.

Thanks

Lets see, about 1300 RX-8's had been sold in Australia at the time Mazda made the decision to stop making yellow ones. More that were in stock were sold after that, yet the total sold is 82? At the time the last one was sold, lets estimate 1500 8's were on the road. That's means yellow made up about 5% of the total.

What can we read into that ? :p
