Bizarre ways that some people have of disposing of their cash!

Apparently there is now a group of enthusiasts who actually hold well organised loudness contests with their car stereos.

It's some sort of weird "sport" with rules and meets, and all the usual palaver. If I remember rightly they don't sit in the car, but put a decibel meter in there and blast away.

I heard some guy talking about it on the radio, and telling listeners how much you would need to spend to be able to be competetive in this or that category. It might well void the warranty on your ears though... and possibly your brain too...

Revolver, if you old 'folks' had time on your hands, in other words, worry-free lifestyles,

you could probably be as creative as us 'young folks'.

:D Wouldn't you agree...

:D

I was hoping that someone else would put some posting space between me and Revolver's creative juices - but I'll just have to risk it... :p

Sigh....

Wheeze.....

Have pity on us poor old codgers RXP33D. Nothing to do all day but sit around moaning about the young, and reminiscing about the war...... it's not easy you know... cough..cough..

I guess, it's just that I have slightly different priorities for my musical dollar than the gent with all the speakers. Rather than spend a fortune putting speakers in a situation where you can't possibly use their full potential accoustically, I waste my bucks on stuff I can actually play....

Of course, he might think that composing and playing your own music is as naff as I think he is - but, hey, 'chacun a son gout' as the frogs say.

P.S. Note the music stand 'creatively' colour coordinated with my car!

Au contraire young pup! :p :D

If you think 35 is old you better make the most of your youth 'cause you're gonna get to old age a helluva lot quicker than me! :p :D :D

But I guess such logic is wasted on the young(er) members of society. :D

BTW - looking forward to checking out your 'creative' sound system at the Nats!

Old age! On the women thread someone might have said: “ You are only as old as the women you feel !” :D
……… but I am the same age as young Revolver and my eight-year-old son doesn’t think that I’m old. I play rugby (union, not that other half-**** code) and am out injured at the moment , my wife commented on the fact that I’m injured cos I’m getting old and my son was offended by that remark (he’s my boy). He doesn’t even think that his grandparents are old. RXP33D, I bet you are also an old fart in the minds of many.

No matter what the circumstances, if you’re a young pup and drive an 8 you are considered a spoilt little bastard (even if you earned the cash on your own) and if you’re Revolver’s age people will assume you are a hard worker and invested wisely.

………who the hell am I kidding, I wish I were a spoilt little bastard. :D and not just the latter!
