Prior to my 40k service today, I faxed the dealer regarding both the flooding problem I had and the recall notice in the USA. Regarding the former, they have ordered the parts, and it will be fixed - I guess the warranty manager at the dealer had to examine, check and approve, since it is not a cheap fix.

I was also told that the recall notice would be advised shortly by at least a registered letter. On the face of it, my VIN would appear to be in that batch.

So in total, no drama encountered. It would have been convenient to have had everything done in one fell swoop, but I guess there are administrative processes to go through.
