Tein Flex

I'm so naughty!
A few of you would probably know that I have been looking to buy this badboy for quite some time! I got a REALLY good deal for it ($1800 AU Shipped) so it was very difficult to pass up!
They should be here by the end of the week or early next week at the latest!

Flex has no known copies, only the springs and Tein basic. Drew is sourced from a reliable route..... no one will mess with Drew anyway.
Flex is good and Monoflex is just as good. Make sure you get some serious camber out of the car.

When I put them on, I'll get a wheel alignment done straight away and ill mention my killer camber!

Not necessarily true, theres lots of people who mess with Drew and his mates. We just happen to have a LOT of support from the higher ups if we do it correctly.
Having resources nobody else has helps as well hehehehehh

Hi Drew, I'd be interested to know how the Flex compares to the std springs? I don't know if its' my car or that I have a sensitive backside, but my 8 feel "crashy" over a B grade road, almost as if the spring rates were too hard or the dampers aren't working hard enough? OR maybe I've just been spoilt by sitting in a Jetta for too long?
I'm actually after a lower ride height, but don't want to sacrifice too much creature comforts. Please keep us informed.

Id tell you but ive never felt the car with stock springs because i bought the car with a lowered springs.
Lowered cars on shitty roads dont feel too good and I have to go slow!
I was coming home from work and one of my workmates was driving behind me and i drove over a but of a bump and the car bottommed out and i was like "doh!"
Then my mate drives up behind me and goes, "hey I saw some sparks come from the back of your ca!" and im like yeah its too low and its the exhaust midpipe rubbing against the road! im getting sick of it!
when i get the coilovers, ill put it up back to stock height or just use the recommended drop settings for the flex.

Tell us how the teins are ... I heard they were very very good though, and they look as if they're good value!
Did you order the Fulcrum revision coilovers? Or the Jap coilovers?

From the link. The Flex is from japan and the superstreet is that composite product....
That is what I suspected when I called them.
Do you know what they said 2 years ago when they got the distribution? Tein Flex is illegal and they won't be selling them.

Current camber is -1°00' (left front) -0°58' (right front) -1°46' (left rear) -1°46'(right rear)
What about caster/toe? I been lookin for someone to ask about this, and taka seems the right guy as to the right persons brain to pick! :p

It is only my personal choice:
I like the front to be at least the same and prob more than the rear. I was told, although not experience, that there will be understeer problem if the rear has more camber than the front.
Toe wise is critical. I will have significant toe in for the rear. About 3mm in total for me on track. I like toe out of about 1mm in toal in the front and I found this more responsive but most people like zero toe set up. I found the zero toe all around too nervous....
Caster is pointless to me ... I don't understand them. I heard from the alignment guys for Porshces that there is no benefit unless you are in an open wheeler.
