Hey I am serious. City Mazda start bring them in Essendon and City.

Have a look - it is in the showroom. Stop on the way home 'Mez and have a look (it is the black 8 leather pack).

Well, there you go....

How long have these been available John, and did you have to pay (or did you swap before delivery)?

Gomez.

Gomez.
I first saw them when having a test drive in late Jan 05. Got mine delivered Mar 22 05. I tried the "will you just swap before delivery" line but the sales guy wouldn't have a bar of it. Cost me $400/wheel... I think list is $680/wheel - expensive but I had to have them :D

Cheers,
John

Not my cup of tea. Personally think the stock alloy look a standout to any colour and not too blingish. Nth Parramatta Mazda have been stocking these for a while now and they're 400 a pop.

I just received a set of strakes and front crest that I ordered from the Ebay guy MissRx8 was referring to earlier. A$320 delivered from UK. (126.50 UK pounds) (no import duty payable - delivered via registered post)
Very heavy duty and polished stainless steel. I am very impressed with the quality and delivery speed. (I ordered them when MissRx8 first mentioned them on the 22 April - 5 days ago)

They don't do rear crests?

Was the front easy to fit? Look ok?

These are very easy to fit, and very good quality.
I have both on my car and think they are much better than the OEM one's, which corroded very quickly with the salt on the roads over this winnter (Don't think you will have that problem).
This guy owns a RX8 over here, I don't think he will be making rear crests as we have a rear fog light, That makes it hard to fit a rear crest, But you never know he may.

Yep, easy to fit - full instructions with parts. Front Crest took about 5 minutes and strakes about 10 minutes. (but I have pulled the wheel archs out before when I installed my splash guards.) They are solid stainless steel (used to be aluminium)
Thanks for the tip, Kall. :D :D

Considering on purchasing the front stainless from UKeBayer. But if i were to get chrome rear accent, would that look funny? Or barely noticeable?

Was considering rear fog but too dear and a bitch to install as taka mentioned.

It is about $267.40 from Japanparts.com

Add approx 60-100 to ship to your door.

But I think the cost (if you do get someone to do it) will be more than the fog and and shipment combined. I was lucky to get my dealer to put it on for $200.

It tooks 2 men 7 hours to fit it in, even they know how to do them from the direction/diagram from Mazda Japan.

You have to take the dash off to put the wiring in, change the DSC switch to a combin switch of DSC/fog light, wire the thing and hide it on the driver side (under the plastic under the door), pass though the rear seat and reach to the set of wire at the rear number plate lights. Then you take the rear bumper off to make a hole so that you can screw the lamp on!

7 hours for 2 Mazda men.

City Mazda sweared that they will not do it again. That was even the time when Brain and Rick was in City Mazda I saw them recently in Brighton Lexus but I believe they moved on again.

To be honest I don't really care whether it's working or not. I just like the look of the red lamp in the rear rotor emblem. $300+ for looks isn't my idea of a good buy though.

When it is all done .... and working. It is perfect.

I have to admit ... it is very cool. Even cooler than the MazdaSpeed rear diffuser

Draco,

You've just brought up quite an idea. 300 bucks for something that adds to the JDM look but duznt work sounds alright, especially when its genuine stuff.
Who defines wether its worth 300 bucks for a non working part, yet looks the par...
Hmmm....i might just consider this and purchase the strakes and front accent off UKeBayer(Howard).
