Stall n' Service
On Monday I booked my car in for 1 Year Service on Friday.
On Wednesday after running kids to school - a good 8 minutes or so of travel, I got in car, cranked and nothing. Tried again.
Stall!
Applied the Jedi padawan rule and waited. Tried again...no go.
Got manual out and followed stall procedure, after 5-10 minutes and just as I was about to give up and call out the cavalry, she cranked over (barely).
Reported to Service so on Friday as part of service I got my plugs, battery and starter motor replaced under warranty.
Have to say that the car certainly starts much more smoothly and with a noticeable seemingly (to me at least) more aggressive tone.
Now to nip to garage and inflate my tyres back up to running pressure.

Well done kiwimeat... I think you are prob the last one here getting one of those upgraded but it worked out at the end
Did they change the spark plugs free of charge too? It should be changed if it flooded - it won't look pretty - that is why?

I only got mine this week, 1st complaint got my the spark plugs, 2nd complaint got me the starter motor. Battery isn't yet changed as they are waiting for the parts, need to drop past with it this week again. Car is working okay with the standard battery, it starts much easier and sounds really cool when you turn it over.
At the risk of jinxing myself, I am currently squeak free after leaving the vehicle at the service centre for a week.

Yes, Spark plugs were changed for free as well. It was all covered under warranty.
Must say I am quite happy with the results. Car definately starts "harder" (best way I can describe it).
I had experienced a couple of near misses with stalls during my 1st year on ownership but I put those down to short runs (ie backing out of garage to wash).
I don't understand why Mazda don't fit the upgraded starter set as standard, especially for a car of this calibre.

Kiwi, I believe the newer models come standard with the upgraded starter. Deano.
