Speaking of lawyers, I am reliably informed that to this day, your mother continues to scour your birth certificate, looking for loopholes :P:D

Timbo!!! I had them guessing still until you decided to open your big trap! :D

Okay - you got me Tim Tam.

I practice as a barrister, primarily in the field of building and construction law although I still do some general insurance and commercial work from time to time.

Most of the stuff I get briefed in these days is related to large multi-million $ commercial and government projects. Favourite victims include artiste architects and shonky developers.

Okay, so now you all know but just remember - the jokes better be original 'cause I've heard just about all of them.

Great post BVD!

I think fathers should play a bigger part in raising their sons. (I have two)

To paraphrase a quote from fight club, "We are a generation raised by women".
And I dont know if thats allways the best thing for boys.

Wholeheartedly agree with those sentiments. I think it's a national tragedy that there are so few male teachers left. There's plenty of boys out there who don't have a good male role model in their lives.

I agree. I have three sons and worked hard to ensure they had/have strong male role modelling, including at school. But it's getting much harder; it is difficult to find men who are prepared to act as mentors.

So, Timbo - are you going to unmask yourself too??

My wife (who is a Pubic Serpent in the WA Health Dept) sometimes flies to your home town of Canberra for meetings (including one last month) and might well need to know the name of an experienced local lion tamer.... :D

Come on, fess up.. :p

A clue even? Public or Private sector? Hints? Boasts?.....

Well, my avatar is really a picture of me. I have this little squirrel cage, and I run round in circles all day. Well, actually, I'm an industial chemist who is half owner of a (very) small company making equipment for chemical analysis. I still run round in circles all day.

I'm in investments.
I generally carefully choose stocks and bonds if they are needed/suitable for my clients. So while I fit the general mold of "stock broker" I also usually fill the role of financial consultant. Its a lot of fun, but not as much fun as the commute.

I'm an Analytical Chemist working @ a mulitnational pharma company.. it's a thrill a minute nah I don't mind it, some days I even have fun! :D Longer term plan is to be carer for our kids when if/when we have them, and I agree on the male role model thing.

Although when I grew up I was much closer to my Mum than my Dad, although I did used to spend a lot of time doing activities with him- working on cars, building stuff. Sadly I don't think I'll be able to do that with my kids cos I don't have much mechanical talent..

My better 1/2 runs 2 graphic design companies specialising primarily in branding and corporate print.

You medical types should stop worrying. My oncologist drove a Porsche, and my Surgeon drove a new Merc. I took that to be a good sign that they'd be sucessful at keeping people alive enough to come back and pay them more money and to recommend them to their friends!!

Rowds

I agree Revolver... I don't like dentists.... I figure I'll just wait til my teeth fall out and lolly ones...and replace them every 10 minutes.. & it'd be cheaper than going to the dentist D

but you'll still end up paying big $$$ when the surgeon has to staple your stomach and the cardiac surgeon has to work on your heart as a consequence of those 10min lolly teeth.

I don't worry about patients not liking dentists, because as I keep telling them in response, I don't like patients....LOL!
