REACT/Canberra: Observation Run 18/4/04. Sydney-siders welcome.
REACT announces: The Roundabouts Run!
Essential Details
What: Navigation Cruise
Meeting point: Carpark in Prospect Court, Phillip
Date: Sunday, 18 April
Time: Meet at 10am, depart at 10.30am. Lunch around 12.00 to 12.30. Bring your own lunch.
Contact: Ben (Saru) by PM, secretary@react.org.au or 0405 734 832 (please don't call on the day after 10.30, I'll be busy stressing out :shock: )
Longer details
This event is a social event that takes place in and around Canberra. Think of it as a cruise with a quiz built in. Total distance is about 50kms so it's suitable for all types of cars. You will need a passenger to help answer questions!
Starting at our Southside meeting point, attendees will be given a set of instructions for winding their way around Canberra and a series of questions to answer along the way. You'll probably need a passenger to help answer the questions and navigate. Questions and maps will be provided on the day. Please bring your own pen and something firm to write on. As with the Three Peaks, some questions will be route-related and some will be rotary trivia.
We'll finish at one of the fine picnic spots around Canberra for lunch and presentation of the prize. Bring your lunch and your navigator along for a fun day driving around Canberra and socializing with other REACT members.
Please contact Ben (Saru) by email ( ben.kraal@ise.canberra.edu.au ) or on 0405 734 832 if you plan on coming to the Roundabouts run. Numbers are needed so that an adequate number of maps and questions can be prepared.
Prizes
Prizes for the Roundabouts run are currently being organised. Check back later. Only paid members can win the prizes. You can join and pay on the day.
The last word
Have a look at the REACT website for more info on this event: The Roundabouts run (the "free" question has already by taken
)
If (and I realise this is a big if) any Sydney-siders want to attend let me know and I'll give directions to a relatively easy place to meet me and we can cruise to the actual meeting place. I will also extend the offer of prizes to Sydney people who pay $5 on the day to have a "REACT day membership". Members of RENEW (Rotary Enthusiasts of NSW) are welcome and do not need a day membership.
