radio HU firmware upgrade

hi

i want to install a dension ice-link ipod link for my rx-8. it needs a minimum of 9.55 firmware verion for the radio HU. my car is july 2003 and so the version reads as 9.53. is there anywhere in australia (prefer melbourne) to do the upgrade without having to send it to the US?

cheers

mike

I am dead keen on this, too so I went to the source of HU upgrades in the US, thew, and this was his reply:

sorry to say your HU is not the same as a USA unit.. so i cannot help you. IT is a diffrent Firmware compleatly.. Mazda has nothing to do with the upgrade. it is a Reprogram of the Eprom chip inthe unit.
So, I am at a loss to suggest where to go next....

Yeah, mine is the same version. Maybe I'll ask some questions of some audio specialists around town. iTrip works for me but not as good as I'd like
