Anyone had an oil level indicator warranty replacement?

Picked my car up from 30k km service yesterday. As usual, great treatment from Grand Prix Mazda Aspley (they drove me to and from work). I had a short list of things - difficult to trace rattle or buzz, worn finish on gear shift **** (appeared after about 20k km), that was it.

When I checked the work done, as well as replacing the shifter ****, they'd also replaced a oil level indicator thingy under warranty (there was a notification number next to it).

They were really nice about the rattle (which I reckon is just about gone), but they said if it was still there to drop in anytime and the supervisor or foreman would go out with me and track the sucker down.

Cost for the service was $186, including wheel balancing and rotation.

Sounds like a good price. So you didn't get your sump replaced under the earlier recall for the early delivery RX-8's?

I think it is a very good price.

What does a 20k service involve then labrat?

I had the "oil level sensor fix" (which is really chaning the sump) in my last service (about a month ago). Looks like they're doing the sump fix for August delivery cars finally.

You'll probably notice a new sticker in the driver's side door well.

Taka, the base service price for the 20k km service was $112.50, compared with $82.50 for the $30k km. Oil, oil filter, tyre rotation and GST made up the rest. I note that they're putting in Caltex TXT oil. Ah, well, back to the synthetic for intermediate top ups...

SCO, I went down to the garage and checked. There is no new sticker in the driver's side door well. The notation on my invoice was "supply and fit updated oil level sensor as per advice -S200404".

It looks like they did it on mine then, as the number (S200404) is the same. Thanks for putting up the image.
