Feb 19th Cruise Update

Hi Everyone
As part of the cruise on the 19th, the plan is to have lunch at the Sirromett Winery, Mt Cotton.

I have asked if they can cater for say 15 to 20 people with a BBQ, but unfortunately they are refurbishing their kitchen etc.

They do however provide light lunches etc from the cellar door at reasonable prices (see attachment) or alternatively you can bring a picnic and have lunch on the lawn, it is up to you.

The benefit of having lunch at the winery is that it provides for some great photo’s.

I am doing a recky of the route this weekend, and will provide start point and times next week.

Thanks for the menu Jambo. I think the 2nd page with the steak, burgers and chips didn't come through. Can you try to attach it as well?

Cheers,
Hymee.

You could always get the the triple FRESH KING PRAWNS, LETTUCE, AVOCADO and
MAYONNAISE and ask them to hold the LETTUCE, AVOCADO and
MAYONNAISE.

It sure is a healthy menu...

I guess we will have to see if we can make a short detour to collect a burger (or two) and ice creams on the way to the winery.

While not a big fan of the typical upmarket vineyard foods, I do eat almost anything and am flexible. Burgers/steaks/picnic sounds more my style, but I'll work with everyone else no probs.

Jambos,
Count me out malheuresement. One of my daughters has just rented an unfurnished apartment (in St Lucia near the river) so instead of driving the 8 up next weekend its going to be the truck with household effects. Can't see myself keeping up with the rest of you.

She'll be the one one dressed in blue tonight at Suncorp stadium if you want to say g'day. BTW after living in Brissie for 3 weeks she says there are far more 8s to be seen than in Sydney.

Might meet up with you at the start next Sunday, depending on where it is.

Jack

The menu should be fine for lunch. However, we need the nod from everyone as it would be a shame for the group to split up for lunch as this is the only time we get to chat.

The winery idea sounds nice and I may find some good wine to stock up on.

I must admit, I don't mind most foods, but since my 2 kiddys are coming, me thinks they'll prefer something along the lines of burgers and fries.
I'll go with whatever the majority decide. Maccas is not too far away from there....j/k....Least I know Hymee would be there wit me.

I'll probably take my own lunch, and at least then we can keep it sociable. Even if bring my own lunch means bringing something from "up the road". But I don't want to cause to much mucking around. I guess the double smoked ham sandwich isn't too bad.

Cheers,
Hymee.

Okay guys and gals,

Jambos has an emergency to deal with and has asked me to continue the organisation for Sunday's drive.. Thanks to Jambos hard work that means that I don't have much more to do than:
1. Confirm attendance
2. Do a map so that Hymee won't get lost (dare I say - again )
3. Send out the meeting time and location of the secret meeting place via PM (and e-mail if I have it).

So item 1 - this is the attendance list - please confirm your attendance via PM to me (or e-mail or mobile for those that already have that information)

First the Nats super cruisers (Brisbane to Goulburn+)
xxup (That'e me!)
Hymee ( I know you are coming)
SCO (Who else is going to be at the back to make sure that we don't get lost)
LTD
rx88er
skc

Then the others, many new owners too, in no order
Roxy8
Nocty (I know that you are coming )
OORX8
M8TRX
Alioda

Remote possibility
Jax8 (Will take a huge thunderstorm and cancellation of a free university lunch)
Kiwimeat (Will take a big Powerball or Lotto win after that big HiFi )

Please remember to bring your portable 1-1.5W UHF radios (and batteries) with VOX if you can fidn it... These are inexpensive items at Super Cheap Auto, Dick Smith, Jaycar etc..

Bring money for lunch and wine.. Cameras are a good idea.. SCO and SKC need to remember their spare wheels too..

Cheers
Adrian

Hey Guys

Don't know about this emergency stuff, just some family stuff that I didn't take into consideration when I set the dates, there is still a slim chance that I may still make it, so keep me in the loop with a PM of the start time.
xxup and Hymee I can meet Fri lunchtime to go through the route I had planned as I have the maps at work, let me know.

See you all tomorrow - you all have the secret location and secret start time.. The weather is fine so far so get those cars gleaming for the photos... (Brisbane people may have to drive to the Gold Coast to get enough water!)

For those famous people, who are not keen to be photographed, please remember to bring a suitable mask.. May I suggest the ones without feathers as the last time we had problems with mating Magpies...

Don't forget to check the oil and fill up your fuel tank at the Shell as it will be a long drive.. Bring partners and kids along for the drive..

See y'all tomorrow at the secret place by the secret time.. With your Nats shirts on!!!!

BTW If you have been thinking and thinking about the cruise - PM NOW and you can still join the cruise.. Exclamation

Coming along have:
xxup
Hymee
SCO
LTD
rx88er
skc
Roxy8
Nocty
OORX8
M8TRX plus surpise car (yes Jambos it IS a RX-8 Rolling Eyes )
Alioda
Lock & Load
et381

Maybe Jambos (Saw him on Friday and he will try REAL hard to make it)

Cheers
Adrian

Goody, Goody.

Looking forward to meeting lots of new faces.

Perhaps I should bring an exhaust along for newbies to look at

Cheers,
Hymee.
