OzRenesis Winton Track day 13th Dec 2008

Thank you for your interest.

Mazda RX-8 Club of Victoria have been advised by Winton management that our booking firmly stands in financial term even the event is undersubscribed at its current state. As we are told of our full commitment, we are fully motivated to organise a track day on Saturday December 13th 2008.

The cost will be $250 and EXCLUDES timing. There will be an absolute maximum of 30 participants, so as usual with our days, more expensive but more track time and less track traffic. If the number reaches anywhere near maximum, the club will subsidise the full timing fee. Otherwise, I guess the participants will have to pay for its service.

YOU WILL NEED:
Long sleeve and long pants of non flammable materials i.e. No Nylon
AASA license which can be bought on the day for $50 or CAMS L2S (if you bought a license last time you don't need to this time)
Closed footwear
Helmet that complies to Australian Standards (has ASA or Snell Sticker)
Car needs to be in a good condition, no oil leaks, no loose items in the car and battery secure.
Good condition tyres
Working seatbelt (give it a pull and make sure it locks)
Attached is the entry form. Please make payment by 4th Dec to confirm bookings. First in first serve. Entry form need to be snail mail to the address provided or scan and email it to me so I can print it out.

Thanks

Taka
President of OzRenesis. Mazda RX-8 Owners Club of Victoria

PS. The few people who have placed the deposit will have their places reserved and confirmed upon receipt of the final payment of $150. Thanks.

Hey Taka,

I've downloaded the form and will mail it to you. EDIT - Have also paid the $150 balance via direct deposit.

Anybody staying nearby the night before? Suggestions for accommodation?

Who else is in? List of attendees in your first post?

Any other NSW people want to drive down with me? It's a great track.

Hehe, that will make track days in three different states for me this year...

Thanks Revolver.

I will post the list up later.

I will just say Mrs. Flynn will be coming (the new bride of the local drift expert!)

I will prob stay O/N. Most likely Top of Town ($50 more than where we stay at 2007 Nats but worth it - the owner has an RX-7)

Hey Taka I cannot afford to do the day (building my dream house is turning bloody expensive... Cost blowouts anyone ) but if it helps I am happy to come up and spend the day running the pits. Save you guys loosing your own track time trying to do it yourself!

Yes I am looking forward to catching up with everyone again. It has been a long time.

The Civic is driving me crazy, still very much unfinished as JTune have broken every single promise they have so far made. Exhaust is still only half finished (sounding god awful and loud) and the tune is just terrible. Was promised a revised tune 2 months ago and still waiting. Down low 0 to 4500rpm the air fuel ration is very lean at 18-20 to 1 while from 4500 to 9000 it goes super rich at 7-8 to 1 and the timing is just all over the place. Not to mention a fuel gauge that does not work and no cruise control!

Very close to the point of taking them to court to get my money back and the car returned to stock. Ten months over schedule and still no end in site!

Stu, I don't think you and cars are friends. Maybe a pushie instead?

Already have one of them. It's much harder work and modding me for more speed ain't easy... Besides Danielle said she would walk out if my exhaust was any more free flowing

sounds like that's everyone's experience with Jtune (especially the accord euro re-flash).

Well I sent out email invites so we'll see who responds. Tony would love to but he will be in SA that weekend! Paul is dead keen so have sent him the form.

Sounds like maybe there is a chance I might be able to get the civic out on track. Paul has offered me a set of his Endless pads for the day to help bring the cost for me down (my current pads have about 3mm meat left on them) and there seems to have been some movement regarding the exhaust and tune for the Civic.

Some pretty stern legal threats to both Jtune and Dug from Hondata in the USA were made and it seems to have sparked some action. A production exhaust is apparently leaving the factory via air freight in the next couple of days and Dug is pulling his finger out and should have a revised tune mid next week. One can only hope!

So, any news on the list of attendees?

Len is going to drive down with me and he's organising us to stay in a hotel in Benalla on the Friday night.

We'll probably make a headstart on Saturday arvo and drive back to Albury or so to save some distance on the Sunday.

Looking forward to it!

I will check the bank account with Mr. T but the list is VERY SHORT!

Well. There is nothing in the bank of OzRenesis and we will not be able to cover the cost if that happens. There is 1) Too many track days at Winton already and 2) the management will not allow us to cancel the date without paying the full fee. OK we can try to host one but if we fail, we just have to fold the club.

That'd be a shame.

I know the December timing is hard for people but have you put the word around Ausrotary, etc? I posted a thread in RENEW this morning, so you never know - we might find 20 + people to come along.

What is the minimum number you need to make it viable?
