Black-8 should get number 8 :D

But I'll be trying a lap timer on my iPhone, so maybe I don't need the number.

And I think my friend would definitely want number 13, if any.

You do know the rest area, yeah? - one of the 'VC' rest areas - from memory about 40kms south of the M5 tollgates - has been covered ad nauseum in previous Nats/cruise directions. Indeed, I think GPS coordinates exist somewhere...

Timbo, that should get us to Yass somewhere between 10 and 11 I suspect but we'll call you en route as suggested.

If it all gets too hard to link up, we'll just do our own thing and see you both down there...

Haven't heard from Rod but he usually likes to drive solo...
35k from the Toll gates.
GPS coordinates are for 13year olds.....and they still can't find their way.....
Cheers

Hi guys, I'll be joining the fun on Saturday
I had been thinking it might be pretty warm for this trackday but after looking at the weather forcast this morning, looks like we'll have a different problem...
http://www.weather.com.au/vic/benalla

SAT - Showers. Mostly Cloudy. Cool. 17 km/h W 5mm (58%) 79%, min14, max21

Ahhhh weather forcasts are never right these days... right? lol

Be prepared for a hard time. Last time I came back from Winton, my TomTom took Len and I into a cow paddock

Well, he now knows to avoid that paddock then, doesn't he?

No, I'll get sick of it too but since I didn't get it in time for the Nats trip, I want to have a little play to see how it all works...

Stu,

I got you a stopwatch.... well a lab timer... it works like a kitchen timer.

Sounds like it is going to be wet but I still have the car in semis.

Prob won't be logging on again before I leave in the morning, so I'll see the NSW/ACT crew en route as arranged and the rest of you down there.

Safe trip everyone and look out for plod.

Taka/Andrew - you guys have my mobile number, so ring me if you need to. Hopefully see you Friday night for a few fizzy malts...

Hey guys, thanks for a great day. Special thanks to Taka, Stu, Andrew and Len. It was very very wet but we had a heck of a good time, or at least I did. Andrew came in my car with me in one of the sessions and we hooked up the race timer. It was nice to know my lap times even in the wet so thanks. Can't wait to get back to Winton in the dry - I need to spank a few RX-8s!

PS: Andrew, please post the picture of the yabbie.

Thanks everyone for a wet but safe track day. It was fun trying my wet track day for the first time. Thanks to Taka, Andrew & Stu for organising. Sorry I didn't have a chance to say goodby to Taka & Stu.

So, who stayed past 4pm? It looks like the cloud opened up and the track might dry up.

Thanks for every one coming. Could have a better weather but hey it is still a lot of fun and I am very sore after 40 laps of hardwork.

Special thanks for Stu for his hard work. And people from NSW and ACT coming all the way down... it is nice to catch up with you all.

Who said it was wet!

In fact it was so wet, MikeyR found this little fella on side of the track.

As others have said, thanks to everyone who came to day and supported us, but most especially the NSW crew. Sorry about the weather, but I hope to get up to wakefield early in the new year.

Cheers

Andrew

WAY I have to say I love your car. If you ever go out one morning and it's not there don't bother coming around to see me about it... I'll be up country somewhere driving very fast

Thats a great shot Andrew of the M3. Pretty much sums up the weather for the day!

Andrew, Taka, Stu and all...thanks for organising this. It was great to catch up and meet some new people, too. I learnt lots about my new car in the wet...and when you think about it, it's better to learn about on the track than on the road

Just a quick thanks:

Andrew and Taka for organising.

Stu for braving the weather to run the sessions.

Len for co-driving down and back.

Timbo for allowing me a drive of the Audi and not complaining when I got it sideways.

Benalla locals for entertainment.

The yabbie for summing up the conditions.

My car for coming home straight with all its bits and pieces intact.

Sydney - for being hot and sunny, thus confirming my choice of residence!

I think there is a huge CONGRATS owing to Stu! Thanks again for your relentless support we truly appreciate your altruism. (Not to mention your self control not going out onto the track!)

Also thank you to Andrew & Taka for organising the day.

Special note to our interstate buddies who took the time and travelled all the way to Winton (as well as bringing the rain!!! )

WET but safe and enjoyable day had!

Thanks for a great day everyone, I still had a great time despite the weather.
And I agree about the learning lots about your car in the wet, all very useful info to help make you a better driver.
