I should also have access to the DBA stuff for something similiar to their trade price. Probabaly in the ball park of 20% to 30% off.

I have already started annoying an old contact to organise it for me. I guess I will let you all know how that goe's too. I am hoping the DBA 5000 series rotor upgrade will be available soon. This upgrade alone will give a big reduction in unsprung weight. Combine that with light weight wheels and you will have a noticeable difference in the way the car performs.

Cheers

It is progressing slowly. Whiteline has been a little hesitant as he is not a distributor so they are a little reluctant to supply this amount of sways.

Though that being said they have almost come to an arrangement so hopefully there will be some good news early next week.

As soon as I know I will post. He believes he should be able to get them at least $25 to $30 (including the delivery to one point) less than the price you guys already have (that did not include the delivery).

Still waiting on a final reply from the whiteline end. Who would have thought it would be this time consuming

My Swaybars and springs came in Monday so am getting then installed on Saturday. The friend that is installing then was speechless at the size of the front swaybar.

"Jesus is that for a bloody truck" were pretty much his exact words. It certainly is big and has some weight to it as well.

it is very similar to mine and it is slighter thicker than stock.

But the OEM one is very weak, my mechanic friend can bend it slightly with his arm, and he is only a skinny guy. I can do it too afterwards.

Well the Swaybars and King Springs are fitted.

Firstly the Kings. The back came down approx 10mm while the front dropped approx 30mm. Now the wheel arch gap at the front and the rear are the same. It makes the car look so much better! The ride quality is pretty much the same over normal roads, just slightly more stiff, although the car does feel more planted to the road.

The sways well there is vitually no body roll at all now. The feel of the car is now really razor sharp and responds to you in an instant.

Overall the car gets it's power down a better and you feel it powering out of tight corners. The speed it carries through corners is insane (took the wife to Hepburn Spa's yesterday so got to try it out properly there and back again) and does the winding country roads with ease and comfort.

What I noticed this morning going around large roundabouts is there is no over or understeer, all 4 wheels break together and the car powerslides sideways where it would in the past just hang the rear out. Mind you it is now carrying a lot more speed through the same roundabouts.

Both these are very good bang for your $$$ as the RX8 really now feels like a purebread sportscar in the handling area, but what it has highlighted more than ever is the fact that the car is underpowered. It is now really screaming out for more!

I am expecting a call from him at the end of the week. He took his wife to Sydney to see the Lion King (or something like that) I think for their 20th Wedding Anniversary.

He said he would call me when he's back.

I am also exploring another avenue as well if anyone lives near a Repco. I found out their trade price on the non-adjustible swaybars is $125.00 (inc GST) delivered to them. I am working on getting the trade price for the adjustibles.

If anyone has access to trade at Repco or likes to haggle they can go there and either buy at trade or haggle the price as close to $125(using the non-adjustibles as an example) as they can.

Or if you can get trade at Repco order them for everyone as the price would be cheaper than what I will probably end up getting if it works out through my friend.

Still trying

Cheers

Michael that is good news. Sorry I was not able to help you guys out more.

All you guys even thinking about the swaybars, don't think just do it they are well worth it. The car has also lost some of it's twitchy behaviour in the wet as this morning it was pelting down driving to work and the rx8 behaved very well in the past on some sections it wants to jump intpo the next lane!

The same person that told me of the trade prices from Repco also said you can get King Springs and DBA from them as well. The trade is $170 (including gst & shipment) for the rx8 King Springs, but he has not got me the trade price on the DBA line yet.

Cheers
