Haven't posted here for a while - been enjoying the RX to much

Just a really quick question that I hope you guys can help me out with.

I've done a tad over 4000 k's (4217 to be exact) and I have used very little oil since it was topped up at the 1000 k service. I'm checking it at least once a week (driving around long enough for it to get to normal running temp) then heading home, waiting the 5 min and checking, but the oil level for the last 6 months or so hasn't moved that much at all.

I'm a little worred about it though as I thought the 8's were meant to suck a bit of oil and when I dropped it in for the 1000k service even the service guy told me to keep a good eye on it.

Does it just not drop as fast as what I'm thinking??

 

If you're not fanging it, it won't use much. Oil is injected relative to the rev's of the engine at the time. You're obviously pretty gentle with the loud pedal!!

lol - yeah, a tad.

I'll only hit the 7500+ range probably twice a day, and then only through first to second (it's hard to stretch it's legs around town).

done a few of long trips (300+ k's), but even then I only pushed her a couple of times.

so I gather it's normal then if you aren't fanging it around a lot?

 

Mine has done 6000k's.....I've added less than a litre since the 1000k service...
