It looks a bit too purple for my liking on the web site. Will be interesting to see what it looks like in real life. Can't believe they still have Nordic green as an option - anyone seen one yet?

I DID! Just the other day. I was a typically overcast Melbourne day and the clouds were low....the car trundled past me on the freeway and I thought it was a black one at first. It looked great. Better than black IMO, just had that classy character about it. Black is now SOOOO passe :p !
Having finally seen a green one, I'm surprised MA don't bring more in. Just goes to show that we Aussies are a conservative bunch......it'd be interesting to know which market buys the highest percentage of green per units sold.
And Michael...green will be rarer than yellow....and therefore more valuable in years to come!
Hmmmm, maybe the new blue won't be so bad after all......,nah, it looks crap!
Go"Colour ****"mez :D .

Yellow will always be the colour to go for, it stood out more than any other car, it doesn't show scratches like the darker colours and besides I own one :D , so yellow ones must be worth more :p

Strato blue's not too bad... kinda reminds me of the colour of my old S14 200sx.
But it sucks that Mazda decided to use the same colours across their entire range of cars, no exclusiveness whatsoever!
L&L would love me for saying this, but I wish I chose the yellow, purely because I would never ever be parked next to a 3 or 6 in the same colour at the lights....
....come to think of it, I don't think I'll ever be parked next to another 8 in the same colour since not many owners are that extroverted! LOL

Green is actually nice.. I did not get the green since my other car was green and i thought ill go for another colour.
Yeah this blue doesnt look that nice on the site but i think in real life it will look heaps better.. Think it would look like a blue NEON.
Regards
Phillip

Doesn't look any better in real life.
I saw a Strato Blue in the flesh at Centenary Mazda on Tuesday.
Sorry not even a starter. Too anonymous, the lines of the car fade in comparison with the other colours.
I'm sticking with Winning Blue as my first choice.
Oh and most new RX-8's now have the new key (where the key folds into the fob).

Doesn't really look like my cup of tea...
Do they really need two blues? Why not a lighter green, something a bit more like British Racing Green? It seems rather odd to have two silver/greys and two blues, yet no white and now no yellow either.
Does anybody know what the most popular colours usually are for sports cars, or cars in general? White's probably high on the list for many types of car/ute/van etc, but what about sports cars? I must admit that silver/grey wouldn't immediately spring to mind as a sports car colour that needed two flavours although they do look OK on the RX8.

No that is a Ferrari colour, or "pretend to be fast" colour.
I think white is the colour to have for a sports car. Black is mysterious and confusing. Blue is straight and honest. Green is envy. Yellow is a show off. Silver and grey aim to hide themselves in the crowd.

White is a colour chosen by Commodore Executive and Falcon XL fleet buyers and others with absolutely no imagination :bored:. There is nothing "pretend" about Ferrari's choice of red: their record speaks for itself :p

Interesting to see different reactions to the same colours.
I'd agree that silver and grey like to not stand out in the crowd. I have a silver/grey Xtrail for just that reason - I feel I can park it at shopping centres etc without attracting envious kiddies with keys and screwdrivers. The Titanium looks good on the Rx8 though - classy but conservative.
On the other hand, my wife's car is red and my RX is yellow. Both seem equally cheerful and somewhat 'sporty'. Perhaps because Ferrari and Lamborghini are strongly associated with those 2 colours.
I certainly don't see green as envy - in cars. Dark green was a tradional racing colour in the UK for many years. Also Australia has something of a history of green (as in "the green and gold" and with Brabhams, etc.). I also like the dark green that Mazda uses on the MX5. I'd call it 'sporty but conservative' - a bit like some of the blues.
White? Like Timbo, that just says 'fleet car' to me. Or maybe 'wedding car'. Popular for reflecting the heat here too I suppose.
Black? When I was a kid the majority of cars were black, with little other colour choice, so it's never going to be my first choice. Hard to keep looking clean too.
Any colours that you'd like to see on a car? Any fans of pink or orange?
I'm trying to remember if I've ever seen cars in brown?? The only thing that springs to mind is an early MG livery that was a two tone cream and brown.
