A Canberran attracted to warm clothing - what a shock!

Tempting but better not. 'Er Indoors thinks my attachment to my 8 is sad enough. If I started wearing one of those things as well, I think divorce papers would be served. It's already referred to as "The Other Woman".

As this place has turned into tumbleweed town, I thought I'd check out some of the other forums.

Look where I found 'Mez:

http://ausrotary.dntinternet.com/for...er=asc&start=0

He obviously needed more people to argue with.

I don't look for an argument. There would be no need for an argument if people were truthful. I wasn't about to stand by while untruths were cast about ***** nilly. I posted here 3000 times before an argument found me.

Hopefully, 3000 more posts until my next argument...

Okay, okay - keep your fur on. Was just kidding around.

And I agree arguments often happen when people get economical with the truth.

I thought the point was that the 'different demographic' on that other site usually meant you didn't have to go far before an argument suddenly finds you

Read all the related posts and all I can say is...they are way young....seem to be way more aggressive and seem to have chips on their shoulders...lack of hindsight I guess...

You are right though...in time when they come to buy the lovingly cared for second handies they won't know where to start when it comes to looking after them.....I have posted on their a few times...not the same as here though! Good on you for your determination in keeping the thread on track! All that talk about 4wd and AWD.....IMHO most of them would crack if they were put in an 8. Point and squirt cars are boring and common...

Oh for goodness sake. It's a film called Taxi..

It has Queen Latifah in it. Released in 2004, it's a bit of light hearted nonsense with reasonable music and a silly ending!

Look for it at your video store and waste a few bucks hiring it....

Ah, okay. Sorry, my interpretive skills must have lapsed when I read your previous post.

I remember seeing shorts for that flick. Didn't think it was worth the effort. Mind you, Queenie is usually worth watching - just about stole Chicago from the skinny white chicks.

I saw a few flicks on the weekend. Wah Wah (Richard E. Grant's new film based on his childhood in Swaziland) was interesting. Gabriel Byrne delivers the usual fantastic performance and there's some great supporting roles. Finally saw The World's Fastest Indian - best Anthony Hopkins film I've seen in ages (finally managed to forget he was Hannibal Lechter, which usually makes me unable to watch him in other roles). BUT, also got conned into seeing a pathetic chick film - The Lakehouse. What absolute crap! Even 'er indoors regretted the experience, which is a BIG CALL for her.

Wink

No worries I like watching no-brainers on a Sunday night with a glass of something..helps numb the pain of realising it's another working week!

Lakehouse well that's interesting cause WD wants to see it! He heard a review that said it was great. Interesting dinner time conversation tonight!

We both want to see World's fastest indian. We have been talking about it for ages I think I will have to look up where it's playing and drag him along!

I never saw Silence of the Lambs or Titanic, two feats I am most proud of. WD thinks there is something wrong with me not having seen Titanic. I tell him my movie tastes are not main stream love the "Out there" films...love Fargo and Big Lebowski...have you seen either yet? Seem to remember we spoke of these some time ago.

And finally for the record. Ford Festivas suck in every way even in the manual version..I want my 8 back all shiny and fixed! One redeeming feature of the Festiva 15 litres of fuel equates to half a tank!! Lotsa new smilies!!

He does know he's the bloke in the relationship doesn't he? Tell you what - teach him a lesson by agreeing to go see it. The $22 and 90 mins of your time will be worth the look on his face when you leave the cinema.

Judging by his hobbies I'd have thought he would be dragging you to this one. Burt reminded me of 'er indoors' father actually . He's always tinkering with something and has built many race engines on the cheap for both cars and boats during his chequered career.

Well, I've seen Lambs and Titanic. Actually, the former is worth it but the latter is definitely a triumph of money and special effects over plot and the length is excruciating. I hate disaster movies anyway - if it has a comet, tidal wave, earthquake, disease or fire in it, I usually refuse to see it.

The book of Lambs is better, as is the prequel (Red Dragon - which is the movie they should have made). Recommend both for an interesting read.

Yes, also a big fan of Fargo (which I've seen a few times now) and the Big Lebowski. My tastes aren't exactly mainstream either but I won't see an arthouse film if there's a lack of decent plot and characterisation (i.e. 'style' alone isn't enough). Love the World Movies channel and subtitles are worth the effort if the movie is good.
