Here's a giggle. A classic Clarkson review in The Sunday Times -- this time of the BMW M3 CSL. His comments on car clubs are bitingly funny (and accurate

He certainly has a talent for putting things into discomfortingly sharp perspective. Love the Ferrari and AM comments.

If you missed it, there's a link at the end to read his other reviews, including the 8 of course - also funny <runs hand over his number 1>.

Just say: "I reckon there could be some major risks on this if we do it too early. It's important the timing is right"

But ensure you have one or two ideas in mind when she (it is a SHE isn't it?) fires back with - "What risks and when will the timing be right?"

Of course, there's always the "I've just been diagnosed with cancer" card but this is best played when you REALLY, REALLY need it. Lay it on the table too often and they see you as a health risk and never promote you.

Have you considered just doing it? It's often far easier to do this than to get around not having done it.

This is very amateur, and clearly you have not studied Dilbert 101.

The correct answer to the "what are the risks" question is "That's a good question, and thinking about it, it's quite complex. I'll prepare a risk assessment study" This acknowledges and compliments the manager, and creates a further procrastination excuse for any other manager ("I have to prepare a risk assessment study for X, which is why I can't do anything for you")

The "diagnosis with cancer" excuse is plainly unethical. An expert always contains the context of the procrastination to the task or project itself. Besides, the expert procrastinator used the cancer diagnosis several times in primary school, and still remembers the pain following discovery

Just doing it!!?? WTF! We would never have won the war on that basis, you know -- just rolling over. The whole idea is abhorrant. Effective procrastination requires clear strategies and well-prepared tactics, marshalling of resources and planning for meetings. To truly achieve in procrastination, you must be resolute in your goal of never, ever doing it

The general opinion is that the judge has reached his verdict in this trial without jury. Judge Timbo is obviously keeping his RX-8 .

Now...about the wheels!

I like 'em, but I think you now need to go a tad lower in ride height.....

I just grab a folder, stuff it with junk mail, and walk around the office looking like i'm on a mission. A pen in the hand and a frown also adds weight to the effect.

But then again, I have a mean frown (practice it a lot in the mirror! )
