Keep your RX-8 or wait for the new model?

This poll may not give a right or wrong answer, but it will provide a bit of an insight of what peoples views are on this topic....

I say wait. I love the current styling of the 8. Also while the new model MAY be significantly more powerful from the factory (I hope) the first year will have its fair share of quirks to iron out, not to mention it will be that much farther behind the 8 in terms of R&D for mods.

I would wait for the new spec to come out and compare with the old... and get the best one out of the two... even better if the old one is better... then i could get extra discount on them...

Well, I voted to keep you happy but I think this poll is premature.

How can you decide to keep your original without even knowing the spec of the new model?

Keep the original until I can afford to buy a better car down the track ... I think that sounds better.

Too true Dave....at this point of time theres a lot of discussion on the topic and if push comes to shove, I think people will tend to hold off until they see what's on offer.

The info that's generated all the recent buzz says a face lift for the RX-8. It's unlikely there's going to be power increase since the 1.6L motor spoken of is for a future model that'll be out in 4 years.

SON, I think that would be a certainty....and the discount could be well worth the wait...

That would work if there were any of the old ones left. The trouble with this plan is that importation of the old model finishes in November (December sees the 40th Anniversary RX-8 imported).

There will be very little old stock to pick from (if any), when May 2008 rolls around.

As is usually traditional with car manufacturers with rubbish badges, I'm presuming Mazda will be willing to cut some serious deals at the end of this year, so anyone wanting the current model RX8 should be able to get them at a very good price!

I'm not really looking forward to the new Mazda range, they have nothing I'd want to upgrade to anymore ... but I am very interested in what Jaguar are doing in the next year or two.

That so isn't going to happen, Mark Latham will make a comeback before that happens!

I'll keep my car as long as I still enjoy driving it (which is still a while for now). Although, having said that, I seems to have a habit of changing car every 3 years We'll see if this time I'll break the habit or succumb to it
