On the bright side, is there any chance of a pearl coat on the respray? There has to be some positive from all of this

 

look mate i love the car more than anything. i will never do that to the car or to anyone else
just to let you know it has happened before and i got that fixed already
the last time it was only small so i didn't go throught insurance but this time it the whole car so i need insurance to cover for me

Sounds like you need stealth. Once some one has done this they think they can do it again and get away with it. I would set up in another car with a paint gun and give it a week...

 

i spoke to the building manager and strata already they have relocated my parking spot to a lock up grarage and also has cameras
once i get the 8 back to it original form i will park it there

Oh man - just read this post - this is awful. And I thought the chip I got yesterday on my front fender from some jerk opening their door at the local Westfields carpark was bad. All the best with the repairs.

NRMA should be around this week to look at the car
we have had 3 RX-8s at the workshop for the past couple of days, and there were alot ppl asking questions... especially my 8 :p :D we told them that it is a stolen/recovered vehicle getting works done

That has got to be the lowest act someone can do to someone elses car. When I got my 8 within the first week I parked it at a shopping centre and some low life stuffed empty chip packets under the door handles. I was worried about getting scratches from that and then to see yours....

4) look im not going to abuse anyone, but to the person that posted the "he did it himself"comment..... i really dont think thats the case.....who goes and puts minor scratches all over their car 4 insurance..... maybe dump it in a river then consider it..... phil doesnt have the time. money or energy to waste.
