Got keyed today

Hi all,

Due to work reasons I park in a suburban street in a Miranda once/twice per week. I returned to my car at lunchtime today to find someone had run a key right along the driver's door extending into the suicide door. The thing is, I have parked in that street the past year with no troubles, but chose to park 15 metres closer than usual. I have a feeling there are some disgruntled residents there who would rather deface a car than leave a note or something. I have parked in Penrith, outside housing commission places in Westmead, on the street in Redfern and never had trouble. The car was also filthy from the rain. It boggles the mind.

So I've got 3 scratches ranging from 60cm to 10cm along my doors, some parts I think go through into primer but maybe not onto metal, but I am no expert.

I looked on the net for scratch repairers, as I really do not have the time, nor the spare car to put it in a panel beaters'.

I was wondering if any of the learned members of the forum here have had any experience with these types in Sydney; what the quality is like, and what the cost is like.

Alternatively, could someone point me to the relevant thread.

Cheers!

Well, unfortunately, i get a lot scratches, i have a very light keying that is about the same length. Try using Meguiar's ScractchX Remover. Has been working well for me.

The 2 that I know of are http://www.touchupguys.com.au and http://www.kwikfix.com.au/ They are both francises so its hard to tell but they offer warranty on their work.

See how they go.

You have to watch the Sutherland Shire - its a jungle out there.

Keying a car is a low act.

They don't say its the land of the Hobbits for nothing. I've had more trouble in places like the Shire, the Inner West, and sometimes in the Eastern Suburbs more-so than out West or in my native Northern Beaches. I've got a light keying and dings on the right side in places like Mascot and Brighton.

I grew up in the Shire but it's certainly turned into a **** fight now - too many medium density apartments along the train line has seen a massive traffic increase. Was back last weekend and decided I was thoroughly glad I no longer lived there.

If you were in Melbourne, then chipsaway is great. They have done mine and my wife's Mazda 3 and it looks very good. Free polish too.
