I was just reading that the battery cover should stay on always as it vents air around the battery to cool it and also insulates it from damage from high under bonnet temperatures.I have had mine off for years so i can access the battery better when I need to.Should I put it back on do you think or not worry??

 

by the time the batt has sustained damage, you'll need to replace it anyway.

under the batt is a vent that gives it fresh air. that should be working either way.
