Question Good Dealer or Bad Dealer ???

To everyone in ANZ who has pre-ordered,

I am very interested to hear what kind of experience you have had with your Mazda dealer and even the sales rep who took your order for the RX-8.

I ordered through Brookvale (Northern Beaches) and since I put my deposit down in mid-January I haven't had one single phone call or one single reply to any of my emails. Tell me if I'm way off base here, but I believe that if I'm spending approx. $65,000 with these guys it's not too much to ask for a little pro-active information sharing or the occasional courtesy call do you ??

It is tha Mazda way. The Mazda training for Managers and sales people makes them ALL non-responsive. This forum has horror stories all thru it about poor performing sales people. I have had the same experience as you.

That is a good price $65000, I thought the price for the RX8 is not negotiable which is about $68000. That means I and most other Australian pays too much.

Your dealer experiences are also typical of mine. Just spoke to my dealer requesting info on est delivery date and accessories. He doesn't even have a price list for accessories (even though I have found one on this forum) and says that they can be fitted after delivery. This is in contrary to Aust Mazda who informed us that accessories are fitted prior to shipment.

Dealer says his computer has 01 july for shipment however he does not know if this will change. All in all, only heard from them once and that was to confirm our booking at the Xmen 2 movie. He did recently get to see the vehicles in melbourne that will be used for the drive day, reckons they are hot, so looking forward to that, fri week...

Unhappy

I haven't heard squat from my dealer either.

Please tell me you're not paying $65K- $68 on the road. I'm paying &70K all up on the road.

Am I getting ripped-off as well as ignored?

Winning & rossy,

I'm actually paying a bit more - not much change out of $67k and when I ordered I understood that price to be full RRP. So if you're paying more than that then maybe you're dealer's taking advantage. But then with a car that is in such short supply, the dealers are holding all the aces in regard to the price aren't they.

Of course in the last five months the Aussie dollar has strengthened against the Yen, which should mean that we all get a better price from our local dealers. But when I go in to sign the final paperwork I'm not expecting to be offered any reduction in price because of the better exchange rate.

But back to my original point, it's bad enough not getting any calls from your dealer, but when we take the time to write to them and they fail to reply......that's just bloody rude in my oppinion. If I treated my customers like that (I'm a sales rep in I.T) they'd be complaining to my management within days.
