Had a good fuel usage week with mostly highway driving 498km and only 48L to refill ( 9.6 L/100km ) usually it runs at around 11.5 in surburban & peak hour traffic .

I managed 9.7L/100K just once....and I remember I tried really hard. No a/c, no sudden throttle, 110kph max. After that, my best has been around 10.2 yet many others talk about 10s and sub-10s as being the norm. While there is part of me that is skeptical of the claims as there is not the data to support ( don't flame me --I accept most people are not as **** retentive as me :o ) there is another part which says that the issue might be the long term fuel trim of my car, relative to others. Apart from driving conditions, that can be the only other major variable, surely.

Conclusion: from my experience and data, I would never plan a drive which required more than 450k between refills
