Thanks for such a generous and thoughtful offer Tim. I'm touched

Unfortunately, for good reasons, that I'd prefer to keep private, I won't be there. But I very much appreciate your kindness in looking up the flights and making such a splendid offer. I know how much I would have enjoyed that drive to Goulburn, and a good yarn or three.

Thanks Dave, for another very generous offer. A bit of car sharing can be good. I offered other people drives when I attended a local autokhana day (spelling??) and no bad stuff resulted.

I also offer a drive to anyone who visits here - in fact it's almost compulsory. :p The young guys are absolutely chuffed to be able to drive - and to have someone actually TRUST them for change. It seems to brings out the best behaviour in them (and they get to have pics taken with the cat, etc to show their mates...). Oops I think that should say CAR not cat.... I'm a reasonable speller but a lousy typist..

From 17 to 77 they all have a go (the worst was the 77 yr old who stalled it 3 times, but stil had a great time. :D)

The best was a guy in his early 20s who was involved in the project at his uni to design and build a race car for a national (and later international) competition. He was a "spirited" driver in his own car, and one of the fastest candidates when they did the race offs to choose the driver for the race car.

I was slightly nervous about giving him a go, as I thought there could be a fair bit of white knuckle seat gripping by the old fart and owner in the passenger seat! But it was a great drive, his car control, placement and general skills were superb. Better than mine. We drove for miles on some great open roads, and thoroughly enjoyed it. :D

He's now working at Geelong for Fords (currently working on designing the intake for a turbo in one of their upcoming models, if I remember rightly). Must ask him about grille designs... whoops .. sorry!! :D :o :o

Ok then, we're just about buggered!

taka...how's cloning technology coming on? Do you reckon we could capture a bit of BVD's DNA and pump it into a stiff, hotwire it with a couple supercharged pacemakers (twin screw, of course ), and see how that goes? :D

Are they expensive?? Does it cost extra for them to relocate live people? - not really one of their strengths or core business..
