Talking Free BVD -- bring him East!!

Ok, here's where you sign up to apply intense moral and psychological pressure on BVD to take advantage of the leave pass offered him by his lovely wife, put his delightful 8 (even if it is Yellow ) on the train across the Nullabor and join us at the Nats in October. Crikey, I'll even offer him a bed and a red in Canberra! (he'd be desperate, of course)

C'mon....show him the love!

Is that good enough Tim? :p

It's this possibility of having two Yellows in the same locale at the same time that concerns me greatly.

<<<<OH MY EYES, MY EYES>>>>

See..............even reading that sentence was painful.

No no!

Off topic! Hide it in the Lounge!

Actually I have a hat here (with a nice rotary symbol on it) - would you mind just passing it around and see what we can raise? I'm running a bit low on washers and spare buttons....

Taka's comments came sooo close to swaying me - the proximity of medical expertise becomes such a major factor for the elderly. Plus, it would be a real comfort to know that if I keeled over he'd do a good job checking out all the failure points, noting all the recall work that was never done over the years, and then parcelling out any re-usable spare parts.

Sad that I wouldn't be able to read the report and see where all the major wear and failure has occurred, but you can't have it all.

Taka, does "Taka Ltd - Corpse Wrecker's to the Trade" ever get any spare brain cells that you could supply, under the counter? Mine are getting seriously threadbare and unreliable....

Now what we we talking about? What am I doing here?

Oh, the Nats. Sorry, not this time. Disppointed, but there are good reasons.

C'mon BVD....I used reverse psychology in my post above. Now you're telling me it's all going to waste...... What sort of person does that??

Yeah - Moderating is sometimes a difficult judgement call.

And it goes both ways as well, as sometimes we post stuff here that could be of international relevance.

But all seems cool at the moment. :D

Cheers,
Hymee.

Come on BVD!!

If you come - I'll offer you a once in a lifetime opportunity to whack a lawyer with no penalty or recriminations. I'll sign whatever waiver you want and even stand still for you. Come on, think of all the people you will be representing. :D :D

This offer is not open to the rest of you. :p

<settles back knowing that he cannot resist>

Next problem??

No No - I wasn't having a dig at your calls or the whole "in the lounge thing". It was an "aw gee, shucks, keep it quiet guys" type of thing.

It's just slightly embarrassing being the subject of a post, rather than just one of the contestants... :o :o :o

do we need to start a fuel fund for him?
it would be cheaper to rail freight a rx-8 over than drive it across the nullabor :D

The king of spin steps from the throne .

If you get a chance to read August 2005 wheels magazine , on page 118 there's an article on their long term blue RX8 .

The last paragraph by Nathan Ponchard especially the last line has put an everlasting smile to my face YELLOW ROCKS

"The RX-8 isn't for everyone- how many non-enthusiasts are going to keep tabs on it's oil levels? but it's a brilliant all-rounder. Fast, sexy, intellectual and chockers with character. ........... It's just a shame ours wasn't yellow."

Ah... That would be the incontinence...

I can understand why you would not drive the 8, but have you considered getting a car carrier - driving your 8 on the back and charging another 6 8 owners $500 to get their cars to the Nats..

Hell... Timbo can even make you the WA coordinator.. :D :D

Here's a plan, BVD: you fly from Perth to Canberra, arriving Friday 21st, I'll collect you and we'll head to Goulburn later that day. Then you can fly back Sunday night!

I checked the Qantas site -- here's the deal:

Flight Out:
From

To

Flight
Departure
Terminal
Fare Type
Thu 20 Oct 05 00:05 Perth 06:00 Canberra QF720 2 Red e-Deal

Flight Back:
Sun 23 Oct 05 19:15 Canberra 21:55 Perth QF719 Qantas Red e-Deal

Key: = Qantas flight
Note: Qantas flights QF1 - QF399 depart from International Terminals. All other Qantas flights depart from Domestic Terminals.

Total Price*

Price Passengers Total Price
$475.77 x 1 adult = $475.77
$475.77 (AUD)

...the pressure becomes relentless

I'll even sweeten the pot for you BVD.

If you fly over as Timbo has suggested, in addition to the previously mentioned free hit, I'll share my car with you at the track on the Saturday - I'm sure you will take good care of it.

So, come on - no excuses now. Just say yes.

just as well you offered a drive. I'd prefer to be bludgeoned by BVD if the only other option was to attend the natts without my 8 and watch on in envy at everyone else having fun life would just not be worth living

Mate, although some people are a bit **** about who drives their car (as is their right), I reckon if a few of the guys can only get there without their car a bit of car sharing should be organised on the understanding that the 'borrowers' will just have a bit of fun and stay at 8/10s rather than thrash the thing.

In that way, we increase the numbers and the goodwill.
