Yeah man, they were being nice...! It's something that skipped my mind to ask for when I got the car. Should come standard really....

You may well be right Gomez. Eiither that or Rita liked the look of your sump plug. Breakdown of my bill is $106.59 for the service, $69.58 for the parts, $11 for consumables/environmental waste(!), $12.32 for the engine oil flush and $10.51 for the brake cleaner.

Cheers

Guys, re: rxsp33d's earlier message, I'm getting my friend at South Coast Automotive to check with their rotary tech about a RX8 software update that may have come out a week or so ago. I'll get back to you all ASAP.

Sorry guys....I have just found it is for auto's only.....

I didn't have my owners manual in the car when it went in for a service last week, they told me about the flash when I went in today for the stamp.

WRT the "G" flash, I can report after a further 5,000K there is no improvement in fuel economy -- in fact, probably a slight deterioration .... but the car in definitely sharper ... possibly leading to more use of the ... er .. ... loud pedal ... and deteriorating fuel consumption :D

Give your dealer a call....mine told me the new flash is for auto's. If it's true, since your car is a six speed, you've got the "G" flash.

It irritates me when I get charged for:

Description Qty
Workshop Consumables 1.5

1 and 1/2 workshop consumables!!

Next thing they will add building rental and maintenance on top!

Cheers,
Hymee.

Serviced car last week and was notified that I had been reflashed.

PROBLEM: My idle use to swing at about 70KM in neutral very slightly. Now with the new flash, neutral at about 20-30KM, it swings anywhere between 500-1500RPM. Twice I've experienced the car stalling with all lights popping up. Like stalling! I'm supposing its my intake thats causing the problem. But I've been driving around for 10000km with no
problems on the old flash. What should I do? Reset the ECU? Any help would be really
appreciated?

Maybe give your local mazda dealer a call?
Or even better, Mazda Australia.
