Extractors

I see from the flyer that Rick Shaw left for us at the Nats that he sells extractors for the 8. Anyone had experience with fitting extractors? Much to be gained?

Taka, surely this is another mod that should be added to your (extensive) list?

Only gains made when you stap on a S/charger in front .
I enquired on this when I was looking to design a S/C setup.
Pro Maz quoted me $800.00 for a set of extractors

U Must go FI to get big gains . Ive nearly doubled the factory output with my kit !!

Ciao

you are talking about what we in the states call Headers? there are quite a few threads about them. mainly there has not been any gain to speak of with them. there are a couple of designs still in the works that havent been tried yet.

Charles, yes they are headers.

Tim, they are not much gain but it is certainly in my shopping list. We have seen a 5kW gain in a RE Amemiya one that cost a fortune.

After seeing Ric Shaw's car, I put suspension and AP caliper much much higher than the extractor Tim. I think sort out the foot work first.... better still have more time in Wakefield - that will guarantee you to be a faster driver - just see Rod . I am seeing a 1 14 in your stock car Tim

my 0.02 Euro.

The 13B-MSP responds to extractors like any other engine. Its just that despite their look, the factory exhaust manifold flows reasonably well.........

ROTORMASTER extractors are giving power gains for the 13B-MSP although it must be said that the gains are not like an instant 100kw so dont expect miricales

haveing put extractors on other cars before; the gains are there but they aren't that noticable. I'd expect the same from the 8 and it might be worse since the origional is good already.

I don't need more power to go faster at Wakefield, I need more power for the drag races with Sqz on the drive home!!
